Position details

Two fully funded Research Assistant positions are now available for PhD or Masters students interested in 1) cyber security and privacy in cyber-physical system, 2) real-time communication simulation, 3) artificial intelligence, and 4) big data in Dr. Jin Kocsis (Jin Wei)’s lab in the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Akron (Akron, Ohio). Outstanding master students will also be considered.
The positions are expected to start in the Fall 2016 semester. The stipend will be no less than $1500/month for PhD students. The stipend for Masters students is negotiable. Performance-based bonus is available. Furthermore, because of the research collaboration, internship opportunities in national labs are available. Students who are passionate about (or addicted to) research are strongly encouraged to email Dr. Jin Kocsis at jwei1@uakron.edu , along with his/her CV and an optional brief description of his/her research experience.

Requirements

Applicants are preferred to have a bachelor degree (or near completion) in electrical/electronic engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. Strong programming background and research experience in cyber security, artificial intelligence (machine learning, computer vision, and robotics), power electronics, computer networks, and wireless communications is a plus. Requirements at department, college and university level must be met.
