Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support.

To some extent, it is ridiculous that placing the same role for sports and social activities as classes and libraries. Consequently, it is not proper to supply equal financial support for these two at universities.

      As far as concerned, the fees is limited, if we spend more money in sports and social activities, we have no enough money to build our libraries and labs, we will lack the money for research and experiments. As we all know, most of the funding which runs the universities is from the companies or groups. What are the goals for these people who donate? They hope the staff of the universities can make good use of the money to develop science, arts, medicine and so on rather than sustain attainments for the pupils and faculties at university.


       Secondly, if we paid the same cost to encourage the students and staff to participate in sports and social activities. That means the young people will be implied that the most important thing at university is not pursuing knowledge and specialize skill in some discipline. Probably they will dandle in their cherished time of the whole life. It is not a wise choice for those people who place the policy of the universities. For people doing exercise or being a party animal is some part of born needs. We don't need cultivate our intuitions at universities with high cost. The most important role for universities is to give good educations and inherit civilizations from generation to generation.


       Thirdly, since university is a place to study, research, discover and invent physically and mentally then it is a very quiet paradise. If students are encouraged to do too many sports and too much social activities, then it is hard to them to concentrate on their books and classes. As young people full of hormone they can't resist the temptation of dancing with pretty girls or handsome boys rather than persist in the lab with the old professors.

      As a conclusion, I disagree with the statement to supply the same fees in sports and social activities with classes and libraries. However sports and social activities are very important to pupils at university, because they can afford energy, leisure, happy and refresh to people in any age.
