The social conformity and the individual differences look seemingly mutually exclusive. But, in a certain degree, the two exist and link together.

A community, as fauna, consists of all kinds of category, such as feline and caninity. And each community is classified by many species. In feline, for instance, there are cat, tiger and leopard. Of course, 'cat' is a general compellation, for each kind of cat has its own feature. Further, although called human beings, we are distinguished by skin color, belief, gender, and nationality. So, for commonality, we come together and for differences, we exist individually.

In my opinion, the existence of a nation or a society needs conformity. Conformity means action in accordance with some specified standard or authority. The social rules and laws can be considered as some specified standard, which everyone in the society must comply with. To an extent, they limit our behavior even freedom, however, the conformity actually ensure individual safety and maximum freedom as well as the society order. Lacing of these conformity, we are likely offended by crimes, which bear the individual freedom of the minority instead of sacrificing the freedom and safety of the majority.

On the other hand, conformity means correspondence on form, manner, character and social custom. As concerned as French, for instance, we are immediately associated with romance. Similarly, maybe Englishmen are always gentle and elegant and Spanish are always full of passion. These impressions are not from individual but from a nation. Consequently, It is hardly to imagine a delegation in the Olympics is dressed totally different consumes according to individual tastes, for lacking of national feature is equal to loss individual nationality.

Also, conformity is attributed to the conserving and development of the social custom. In Christmas Day, we all purchase for many Christmas gifts and present blessings to our friends and relatives and have a turkey as Christmas dinner with family. If everyone does other things beyond the tradition, then the Christmas Day will become a normal holiday and soon be forgotten by descendants. Especially, in China, a lot of social custom and cultural tradition has been conserved for thousands of years. These customs and traditions not only represent a long-standing history of our motherland but also have a significant effect on all the aspects development of our country.

Of course, the individual differences are equally important with conformity as a whole. As I referred above, a completely conformity without individual differences, our existence will loss its meaning. Like colon, everyone's behavior, character and even dressing are completely same. You will not be yourself, for hundreds of people can replace you. As a garden with only one kind of flower in a single color, they can merely be appreciated as a whole but each flower loss its own appreciation worth. Especially, in the modern age, personal value has been raised in a very high status, which help you to win many attention and appreciation.

In short, as a society, conformity is essential to the development of a society, conserving customs and traditions as well as enhancing national pride and consolidation. And colorful flowers can add beauty and attraction to the garden. So, both are connected with each other to devote to the society.
