There is a long held opinion that morality is not involved in politics, that is, politics is amoral. In my point of view, this idea is somewhat superficial. Politics, I think, is intimately connected with morality. (开头很简短,把时间留给后来展开,少了很多模板化的东东,向你学习)
It is well known that successful politics demands support of the public, gain of which calls for high morality of politicians. Just as Zhu Rongji, one of the most famous leaders in China once said to officials of his government(administration是不是好些): "if your selves are corruptive, nepotic, and immoral, how could you wish that people would auspice and following(follow是吧) you."(这个引用很地道) It is his integrity that bestows him good name and makes him a famous politician. Clearly, immoral behaviors of politicians would greatly destroy people's confidence to government. Nixon's Watergate scandal is a good example in this case. The aftershock of the Watergate episode produced public cynicism to the government that had systematically lied to people and violated their liberties. Said one bumper sticker of the day: "Don't vote. It only encourages them." The prolonged crisis of confidence had bought great trouble to America government.
Morality is of such importance to politics that any sign of immorality may cause great trouble to politicians because their competitive rivals will attack them taking the immoral affairs as a strong weapon. This kind of situations has always been witnessed in political runs. For example, Clinton, the former president of United States, experienced terrible pressure for his sex scandal. His opponents claimed that he was immoral, unreliable and changeful. In the recent campaign for US present, Kerry, one of the candidates is criticized for escaping army service, for which he is labeled as a coward and unfaithful man by his rival Bush. (好像是Bush被指责escaping military service,这个好像不属morality范围,要考虑)So if a politician wants to secure his position and avoid negative reprehension, he has to express himself in a high level of morality.(似乎和上段后半在意思相似,还不如,把Nixon的例子归到这段)
Some people may argue that politics and morality are not connected together because more often than not, politicians must be "immoral", for instance, to conceal information to public, in order to protect interests of a society as a whole. Admittedly, it is necessary for politicians to keep some facts and information secret to masses. However, can we call this kind of behaviors immoral? Of course not. No one would think Eisenhower is immoral for he lied to the public that it was impossible to execute the invasion of Normandy just before the invasion. Even in communication among common people, white lies(很地道) are not considered as immoral behavior. In contrast, complete frankness begets hurt or embarrassment just as Francis Bacon once said: "nakedness is uncomely, as well in mind as body."(经典) Therefore, these activities of politician cannot be used as a plea that politics need not take morality into consideration.(这一段写的很好)
In sum, the issue concerning the relationship between politics and morality is actually a controversial one. However, taking all the dimensions discussed above may make more and more people to realize that these two are closely linked.
说实话,这篇没有按模板之类的东东写,感觉,很有心意
特别是body3,~~~例子,名言,论述的良好结合
有什么经验吗,可介绍一下吗???
我感觉现在陷入模板了,当然,是被动的 |
