One graduate research assistant position is just available in the Department of Geography & Environmental Resources at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale for Fall 2017. Potential research area is data mining of social media, an emerging research area on 'big data'. You will also have tremendous opportunities of working on other interdisciplinary research. The position will provide a generous support of 11-months stipend and tuition waiver for the first year, and the support of the following years could be in the form of research or teaching assistantship. This position can support a master or Ph.D. student. The GRE is not required for those applying for a master degree.
