The Sensing in Biomechanical Processes Lab (SimPL) is in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia. Our lab develops advanced sensing and data analytics techniques to study fundamental biomechanical processes with healthcare applications. More information about the lab is available at: http://simpl.mech.ubc.ca/

Master’s and PhD student positions are available in the following areas. But candidates with other interests in the general area of biomedical sensors and biomechanics are also encouraged to contact us.
- Studying the biomechanics of sports brain injury through sensing, modeling, and/or neuroimaging.
- Applying machine learning and data mining techniques to understand brain injury biomechanics.
- Developing sensors for on-field brain injury screening.
