Multiscale Precision Instrumentation Laboratory aims to generate the scientific knowledge required to design novel precision and optical instrumentations at various length scale for measuring, manipulating, visualizing, and manufacturing things at micrometer and nanometer scales. We use the principles of mechanical design, precision engineering, optics, chemistry, biology, and manufacturing – in combination with invention – to create new models, tools, machines, and fabrications processes that accelerate discoveries in medicine and science.
Description
Applicants should have
(i) a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline;
(ii) Hands-on experience in machine design, motion control, optics, and microfabrication would be an advantage.
(iii) self-motivation and an independent work attitude; and
(iv) good communication and writing skills.
Duties include
(i) assisting in the design, fabrication, and testing of microfluidic devices for nanomedicine drug separation;
(ii) preparing journal papers, patents and reports; and
(iii) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
The appointment will be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
