the leading voices 到底是什么意思呢？（赫赫，上次没有准备这一题 :o ）

看了坛子里面的文章和题目理解，大致有三种意见：
1，主流声音；
2，领先于时代的声音；
3，领导作用。
感觉很模糊，不知道哪一种才是正选呢？

还有那个conviction，也是有点难下定论。

我比较倾向于这种理解：任何领域里走在最尖端的声音是来自于那些想要表达与众不同的观点的人，而不是那些对自己的观点最执著的人。

I agree with your understanding
Conviction means a fixed or strong belief here
Maybe someone sacrifices his or her convicition in order to present a uniqueness to others, but some other   doesn't, there  is no evitable relationship between them
