Education should not be designed only to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, but it should also consider other aspects.

1.        Education should be designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. 课外活动课。
2.        Education should also be designed to cultivate the advisable emotion of the students. patriotic education爱国主义教育。
3.        Education should be designed to teach the students how to learn in their lives. 大学教学，如何自学。


When will education be truly effective? Only when it is specially designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student? The answer lies in the fact that not only effective education should be designed to meet the interests of students, but it should also include other important aspects.

Admittedly, the interests are of great value for education. There is a saying goes that “interest is the best teacher”, only one has its special interested area, can one learn the knowledge in this area promptly. Education should try to meet the individual needs and interests as much as possible, although it is really hard to meet every one. Nowadays, there are a growing number of schools which press much emphasize on meeting the needs and interests of students. For instance, many elementary schools provide students with such courses as hand-writing, piano courses, tennis, and so on for choose in their free time. These courses, served as the “second course”, which are distinguished from such major courses as mathematics, languages, are popular with students, because they are not only meet the interests of the students, but they can also help the students to perform to the best of their potential in their interested field. Therefore, it is quite sure that effective education should be focus on how to meet the interests of the students.

However, it is not advisable and far not enough for the education to only pay attention on the student’s interests. Effective education should also teach the students the lofty emotion, as well as to separate right from wrong. Take me for example, when I was at elementary school, the teacher always told us to love our country, our parents, our friends, the old, the young, and so on. And every Monday morning, in the school convention, the headmaster of our school always encourages us to study hard for our country because the profit of the country is primarily important. These special courses, which indicate the direction of my struggle, indeed teach me a lot. Thus, the education, especially patriotic education, is of great importance for each student. By this education, students may realize which need and interest of him or her is beneficial to the country and people, which is not, thus it will help them to choose the allowable and proper interests and needs, as well as give up the improper ones.

Moreover, the effective education should also include teaching the students how to study by themselves in their lives. Only interest is not enough, we should also learn how to study, how to pursue what we have interests actively and effectively. College education is a great case in point. In my view, the most successful point of the college education is the fact that this education teaches students how to learn by themselves, not only by the teachers, and it also teaches students to explore in the area which they are interested in. Only one can learn by oneself, can one learn till old in his lives. Hence, it is also valid to teach students to acquire the ability to learn by oneself though education.

To sum up, effective education should include such content as meeting the needs and interests of the students, the cultivation of the loyal emotion, the method and approach of how to learn by ourselves, and so on. In a word, effective education involves so many things that no one can define it in just a few words. And with the development of the society, the definition of the effective education might become more various and meaningful.

我觉得以上两位G友文采都很不错,相比之下,自己的文章显得稚嫩了许多,不过不足也就意味着有更大的前进的空间,是吧?呵呵

我们3个人都是从不同的角度来写这篇文章,仔细体会一下这3种角度,觉得很有意思.我的角度是抓住了"only",给这个claim补充了很多其他的内容.

每个人看问题的角度不同,侧重点不同,写出来就自然不一样,也许第4篇就是另外的角度吧.

1、        你的观点不够明确，看完你的文章觉得你的观点好像是“不完全反对”的意思。
2、        论述不够紧密。第三段说明除了interest and need, 还有patriotic idea 同样是很     重要的。我觉得应该从基本的东西论述好一点！例如，说明真正的教育是什么。
3、        语言一般，表达的不适十分恰当。

我的观点确实是不完全赞同,主要是"only",我觉得太绝对了,应该有其他的情形,于是就补充了2点.

你说的"真正的教育"是什么呢, 如果用在这里应该怎么写呢?有点糊涂的说:)

The Amerian educators are enthusiastic about teahing "life skill"---critically thinking, logical analysis and creative problem-solving. The actual content of the the lessons is secondary to the process, which is supposed to train the child to be able to handle whatever life may present, including all the unknowns of the future. Students and teachers both regard pure memorization as uncreative and somewhat vulgar.
