---题目---
49"Imaginative works such as novels, plays, films, fairy tales, and legends present a more accurate and meaningful picture of human experience than do factual accounts. Because the creators of fiction shape and focus reality rather than report on it literally, their creations have a more lasting significance."
---正文---
To display a meaningful picture of human experience, in my opinion, imaginative works has more life force and forms than factual accounts. Although I agree that factual accounts afford us more accurate description, compared with its bareness, imaginative works have more lasting significance in recounting various dimensions of human experience because it not only enrich a special period but also unveil the evil of the society to caution us not to forget yesterday.[开头写的还是比较清楚地]
To begin with,[ I concede the importance of factual accounts because it completely obeys the reality to document human's experience by scientific language and rational analysis.] It is objective thus more accurate. In the soil of human's experience in many fields, such as politics and economics, factual accounts root and develop branches. On those branches, imaginative works absorb nutrition from the soil continuously. Whereas its accuracy to the reality is diluted by the rhetoric devices, imaginative works shape and focus the reality from creator's eye deeply by simile, metaphor and symbolism, etc in the same way. Thus, they flowers and fruits.[呵呵,这段写得很好啊,用了比喻论证了,同时也写出了factual accounts的重要性——基础]
[Imaginative works narrate historical period vividly and specially.] The creator tends to endow history a new life. He/She will rearrange details to reflect what was happening in a certain period. As well, these works bear creator's understanding and emotion. Many people may still remember the movie American Graffiti, which is influential hallmark film recreating the sound, feel and landscape of early 60s in small-town America. It features the coming age of some adolescents on their last summer night before college. The film, which defines a generation, capture the heart of American's last age of innocence. Through not bare factual accounts but the vivid imaginative works, we are reminded of an historical period that has been irretrievably lost. The factual accounts may also record the period. However, what moves us most is the ordinary life details created by film, in which we found ourselves like the characters who face similar dilemma. Obviously, factual accounts lack it.[这段的例子还可以,不过我想要是在论证部分在突出一下Imaginative works的lasting significance 比现实更强就更切题了][尤其是再审你的ts看出来了么??]
Further,[ imaginative works unveil the evil of a society or period.] Many creators use their pen or vidicon as the front to fight the evil or accuse the sin. As a fairy tale tells, a poor girl couldn't sell out match so that she finally starved and frozen to death in winter before Christmas Day. The apathy and callosity of that society should be accused for homicide. Similarly, as a film "Schindler's List" shows, the Jews were persecuted and unable to avoid the massacre. The Nazi should be blamed and never forgiven for their sin. As Mart[k] Twain's novel "Hackleberry Finn" affords, 19th century Missouri have appeared through eyes of 10-year old boys, Hackleberry. In the process that he strayed by the Mississippi with a black slaver, the novel criticized the truculence of feudal family, unveiled the irrationality of lynch, lashed the falsehood of religion and blamed the evil of slavery. What's more, the slavers' virtue was extolled and freedom and equality were aired. Thanks for the imaginative works, it makes us see the evil clearly what really existed in history and more cherish today's happiness. These are also what factual accounts are unable to reach.[最后的这个结论显得有些牵强了,为什么说事实不能起到同样的作用呢?我觉得前面应该多加些比较,这样,后面的结论就更加自然了]
To sum up, without the support of accurate factual accounts, imaginative works will lost its standing point to maintain it meaningful. Yet we are impressed deeply by imaginative works’ lively description and moved strongly by collision with the mind of creator on human experience. I suppose it is the lasting significance of imaginative works--to propel us to cherish today as well as remind us not to make the same mistake. |
