Since ancient times we have acquired more and more knowledge. From the very beginning our ancestors thought the earth was the center of the universal until now it is roundly accepted the earth is just a planet in the cosmos. However, sometimes things may become more complex and more mysterious, even though with a large amount of knowledge, which is not always a bad point.(我自己觉得这个地方应该换个词，但想来想去不知道怎么改)

It is true that things become more complex and more mysterious when we acquire more knowledge. From my point of view, the more knowledge we gain the further we will think, during which people may be involved in an unknown world. It is very common for anyone to feel complex or mysterious when engaged in a new area that we know nothing about. In the past when human did not know anything about petroleum, people not only did not realize to utilize it but even did not care its existence. Nevertheless it is much different now. Our life strongly depends on the by-products of petroleum such as gasoline, rubber and so on. As we all know petroleum is limited, we have to search some kind of substitute for petroleum, which is really complicated. In other words, people did not have such problem before we made use of petroleum, which makes us feel things become more complex instead of being comprehensible with more knowledge.

That things become more complex and mysterious is not afflictive, on the contrary, we can gain benefit from it. It is people attain more and more knowledge that so as to accelerate technology to progress and develop quickly, which lead to make things more complex. While technology has changed our life significantly in every way and makes our life much more convenient, which is obvious in our daily life. The horses are replaced with cars, trains and plains as transportation vehicles. People communicate by phones or emails instead of writing letters. Many youngsters purchase on the internet without directly going to the shops themselves. In a word, technology resulting from more knowledge enables us to enjoy a comfortable and convenient life.

We can utilize the more and more knowledge, which is thought to result in making things complex and mysterious, to serve us. With a number of knowledge attained, people may understand more about the unknown world and make great progress in some new field. From this point of view, mankind is always going ahead continuously. With gripping the knowledge of atom, we are in control of the nuclear power that can create a numerous amount of power without any pollution. In addition, people may even master nature, which is unbelievable in the past. For example, in order to alter the arid condition, dry ice spread by plain may cause to rain. In the other hand, knowledge should be applied for the sake of human not destroy us. For instance, the ingenious doctor, in the latest movie Spiderman, narrowly spoils the New York city without proper use of his knowledge. Therefore, knowledge, appropriately utilized, may contribute to serve every aspect of our life.

The history of mankind, in my opinion, is actually a history to explore the unknown. Just as a philosopher said (and I paraphrase):" If we compare the known part of the world as the space within a circle, and the unknown part as the space outside it, the more we acquire, the more the unknown part that we can contact." I believe that what really matters is that how knowledge can benefit human being instead of whether it makes things complex or mysterious.

With the advance of human history the knowledge our human has accumulated grows with an increasing speed. Accordingly, the views we see the world become much clearer than our ancestors. Nobody will still take the idea that the earth is the center of the universal, which, however, was an unshakable conception among ancient people. On the other hand, we become confused by the complexity and mystery of the knowledge we acquire in everyday. But, if we think over the situation, we will find we really benefit from it.
