不过钱怎么这么少?
Dear Mr. Z:
It is my pleasure to inform you that the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has recommended to the Graduate School that you be admitted to the Ph.D. program in Computer Science & Engineering for Fall Semester 2005. Admission is being granted, pending verification of your academic and financial credentials. During this phase of the admissions process, all foreign credentials (e.g., diploma, academic transcripts, etc.) are reviewed by Graduate Enrollment Services at the Graduate School and verified for authenticity. Please note that students admitted to the Ph.D. program will not be permitted to switch to the master’s program at a later date, except under extenuating circumstances. We are also happy to offer you an assistantship award. The terms of this award appear on the enclosed terms of offer form. Your assistantship will be in the form of a teaching assistantship. You will be paid a stipend of $13,185 over a ten-month period running from August through May. In addition, your tuition and the associated fees are covered, as well as 80% of your health insurance. The remaining 20% of the health insurance will be automatically deducted from your paycheck in monthly installments from September through May. The payments made from September through May, also cover you through the summer months. Your assistantship will be continued for a second year, dependent upon satisfactory progress in our program. You should soon receive formal notification of your admission from the Graduate Enrollment Services Office.
In addition to the assistantship offer, we are pleased to inform you that we are able to offer you a College of Engineering Fellowship. The amount of $2,500 is in addition to our assistantship offer and will be split in two equal payments in Fall 2005 and Spring 2006. This fellowship is in recognition of your outstanding record and promise of excellent graduate studies. These fellowships are highly competitive and I am happy that we are able to award one to you.
The deadline for acceptance of this offer is April 15, 2005. However, because the number of assistantship offers that we can make is very limited, we would appreciate any early information that you can send us about your decision. If we do not hear from you by April 15, this offer will be considered void.
You are required to attend orientation held by the International Students and Scholars Office. Arrival day is tentatively scheduled for August 15, check-in days are August 17 and 18, and orientation is scheduled for August 19-23. Orientation within the CSE Department will take place at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 24, in 333 IST. The ISS Office will be sending you further information about their orientation program. Your assigned advisor will be Dr. *** and he will be expecting you to join his group.
We hope you will accept our offer and join our program in August. If there is any additional information that you would like, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely yours, |
