已经有大牛改过了,好像俺的修改没必要了呵,昨天写好的还是发上来吧
Which is more important for the students, the mental agility and rhetorical skill, or the sincerity and conviction of one's own faith? Such question may be haunting many experts all the while. I concede that the intelligent quality and verbal trick may be somewhat indispensable to one's success, however, they should be along with the earnestness and strong confidence in one's own belief.
To begin with, the sincerity to one's belief is the pivotal ingredient in the recipe of personal success and social development. Without such sincerity to their suspicion, people may not be so defiant to challenge the authority and the creation and imagination tend to be quelled completely. Without such sincerity to their own faults, people shunning and concealing their true shortcomings and defects may easily make the same mistakes again and again and never move forward correctly. On the contrary, only with sincerity to one's heart can people take their corresponding responsibility and make improvements. Since students are the future pillars of the society, they should be taught the value of sincerity so that they can make personal progress and then push the society forward.
Secondly, the conviction of one's own faith sparks people's enthusiasm and inspiration to fight for whatever they insist. Unless[only?] people hold belief in their own thoughts, it is possible for them to defend and struggle for their own objectives and principles. Or else, they may easily give up the original ideas due to their novelty and weirdness. Bruno's persistence in heliocentric theory aptly illustrates the importance of conviction. It is also the conviction to win that inspired Edison to go on his seemingly disappointing and everlasting experiments. That is, the solid belief in one's own faith is the integral element of personal success. Human history is replete with such examples, which are not only limited in scientific field. See F.D.Roosevelt's steady exertion of the New Deal, which finally prove so effective that it not only has saved America from the verge of collapse but also paved way for its consequent prosperity. Another case would as well lend credence to the weight of conviction is that Beethoven's adherence to his new style of music bringing about the transition from classical to romantic composition. On the contrary, once people lose their belief and blindly follow what is laid[faced是不是更地道?不是中国人的摆在前面的政治问题是…] in front of them without scrutiny, they would be inclined to feel confused about their destination, the future, and even the world. This puzzle would in turn produce spiritual emptiness and despair, which is very detrimental and dangerous. Therefore, the conviction of one’s belief should be required to all the students.[这段结尾应更有力些,这一段例子不错]
Admittedly, the metal agility and rhetorical skill are the reflection of a person's intelligence and ability, which may be an effective skill to success. Mental agility helps us to reason more effectively and more thoroughly in discrimination of right and wrong. Rhetorical skill makes our essays and speeches more vivid and persuasive. Nonetheless, all should be relied on the sincerity and conviction of one’s belief. If a person has no confidence in his/her faith, how could this one convince the others? If the emotion expressed in an essay or speech is disingenuous, no matter how delicate the rhetorical skill is, people would not be moved. After all, the intrinsic candor and faith is the crucial essence, while the metal agility and rhetorical skill are nothing but flamboyant appearance.
To sum up, to be a wise student, one should be clear of the necessity of sincerity and the true conviction of one’s own belief, and on this basis[on this condition], pay proper attention to the metal agility and rhetorical skill.
