Issue208
“The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society’s ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people.”
疑问:大家的文章好像都限制在衣着方面,题目里面还说了behavior,可否着重写behavior方面的例子?
--My Essay--
Does the way people look, dress and act reveal their attitude and interests? The speaker claims so. I agree with the speaker on the basis that people's inner feeling can only be present to other people by their appearance or behavior and so forth. However, only through observation over a long period of time can we draw a relatively fair conclusion about  a specific person or people. On the contrary, our judgement is easily led astray by snapshots of other people in a single facet.

Firstly, people's attitudes and interest are expressed by their response to the outside world, such as their appearance, dressing and behavior and so forth. Also, one's outside behavior depends upon innermost feeling and minds. From a philosophical perspective, content determines form and, in turn, form reflects content. It is true that people's emotion and attitude are sometimes capricious and elusive. Nevertheless, based upon the observation of one's behavior, we can cancel out these fluctuations and arrive at a comprehensive impression. For instance, we often know our old friends and neighbors very well in that we are familiar about their behavior pattern, which is controlled by their character and value outlook.

Secondly, on a social scale, the ethos, that is, the disposition or character, peculiar to a specific person, people or nation are often reflected by the overall behavior and appearance of its members. For instance, French people dress casually, revealing their romantic disposition bred in the French soil; Japanese people dress formally, suggesting their solemn and thoughtful attitude towards life. Every person is branded with the characteristics of its nation, which is revealed to the outsiders in ways they behave themselves.

However, it is undeniable that we are prone to be misled by the mirage represented to us in one single facet, from which a biased or even false impression is formed. Sometimes, people, like many politicians, hide their feelings or attitudes, by means of faking and disguising, to achieve their goals. In other cases, we are liable to form an incomplete impression about a group of  people from the behavior of one specific member of it. Let us take a look at one apt example: Jewish people are often depicted as parsimonious and shrewd merchants in lots of movies and novels; in reality, even if there are some Jewish people conducting commerce behave like this, many people are likely to jump into the conclusion that it is the overall character of all Jewish people to be stingy men. This kind of unfair generalization comes in being when we only take into account several specific samples of a people while overlooking their overall character.

In the final analysis, it is people behavior and appearance over a long period of time that reveals the faithful image of people's attitudes and interest. One should be alert not to be misled by images of other people in a single facet in determining the character of other people.

However, only through observation over a long period of time can we draw a relatively fair conclusion about a specific person or people. On the contrary, our judgement is easily led astray by snapshots of other people in a single facet.

Firstly, people's attitudes and interest are expressed(建议用主动语态) by their response to the outside world, such as their appearance, dressing and behavior and so forth.

For instance, French people dress casually, revealing their romantic disposition bred in the French soil; Japanese people dress formally, suggesting their solemn and thoughtful attitude towards life. Every person is branded with the characteristics of its nation, which is revealed to the outsiders in ways they behave themselves.(例子和角度选的不错)

However, it is undeniable that we are prone to be misled by the mirage represented to us in one single facet, from which a biased or even false impression is formed. Sometimes, people, like many politicians, hide their feelings or attitudes, by means of faking and disguising, to achieve their goals. This kind of unfair generalization comes in being when we only take into account several specific samples of a people while overlooking their overall character.(本段是扩展段,感觉不是很扣题而且有些盖过body 1 和 body 2,个人意见,请大家讨论一下,但论证上蛮不错的。)

In the final analysis, it is people behavior and appearance over a long period of time that reveals the faithful image of people's attitudes and interest. One should be alert not to be misled by images of other people in a single facet in determining the character of other people.
(楼主写得蛮好的,呵呵,加油~~~)
