Creating an appealing image has become more important in contemporary society than is the reality or truth behind that image.

Position: Reality and truth are more important.
1.表面好而没有内含是不能长久的。
2.Appealing image may cover the reality so that the severe result would be neglected.
2.Focusing too much attention on the image may arouse the bad activity such as cheating.
3.But sometimes appealing image will do some good.
4.Do not only focus on the image but the reality. Combine together.

When looking at the shining pop stars wearing beautiful costume and glimmering jewelry singing and dancing on the stage with thousands of fans waving their hands and heads according to the strong beats, I always wonder whether appealing image really outweigh their true ability. My friends told me:" Yes, of course. Are you joking when you mention the ability? Come on, now is the 21st century. How many times have you found a pop star that is bad looking?" But I cannot fully agree with them.

Admittedly, appealing image will undoubtedly make us happy to accept them. However, you also cannot deny that only eye-catching image without filled content cannot last forever. We often call those beautiful women who are softheaded the name "vase" to jibe at their lacking in ability and knowledge. And we can tell many vases who were or are now on the stage with any difficulty. But how many can you find who have been continually popular for more than 3 years only because of their pretty faces and slim figure?

What is more, appealing image sometimes lead us to take blind on the reality and truth behind the image and thus severe results might be neglected. Take a company for example, when this company is raise its stock price in the stock exchange market, it may fabricate a perfect finance report to tell the stockholders that the company is well operated, but in reality, the company is in highly debts and will bankrupt in the near future. If the stockholders are bewildered by the appealing image and unable to make the right decision, they will unlucky lose a lot of money. Appealing image is like a veil which always covers our eyes in order to conceal the severe situation, while the reality and truth are so cherishable to help us sharpen our eyes to take proper action.

In addition, focusing too much attention on making the image appealing may lead the involvers using bad even illegal means to achieve this goal, and the moral standard might be undermined. If politicians value the image more than the real citizen life, they are possible to abuse the money which is arranged to help the poverty to improve their poor living condition to build useless squares or features. Business people may cheat their stakeholders in the way of hiding the reality while telling lies. They suppose that this appealing image will help them to hold a good reputation, but when their bad nature is disclosed, they will surely be spit on and cursed by most people.

To sum up, appealing image will never be more important than the reality and truth behind the image because it has so many disadvantages. However, every coin has two sides. Appealing image has its own advantages. What we should pay attention to is how to make full use of its advantages while avoid its disadvantages to highlight the wonderful inside of one thing or one person. It is a good medium to market your product when you use it to a right extent.

我觉得这段的观点挺好，不过没充分论证 ， 例子没有说明  undermine moral standard, 要是把观点改成会对社会造成不好的影响 也许会更好点
