While some leaders in government, sports, industry, and other areas attribute their success to a well-developed sense of competition, a society can better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation.

Co-mpetition, which means a combination of competition and cooperation, is a buzzword in this decade. Both the sense of competition and cooperation is necessary for any one, especially the leaders. Competition together with cooperation makes a leader and later a successful leader. A society should better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of competition as well as a sense of cooperation.

Be competitive and having the ability to cooperate with others makes one outstanding to be a leader. Be competitive render individual enterprise. Driven by such enterprise, he or she will take pains to perform well in any given task and also strive to catch up with creative ideas that are differing from the majority. This makes the prospective leader prominent and noticeable in an organization. However, one who performs best in the organization will not ensure that he has the ability to become a leader. The sense and ability of cooperation drive one to deliberately organize his or her partners cooperate in an effective way so as to reach a solution to the given task. In short, a desire to win in competition, the willing to cooperate with others and the capacity for organizing cooperation is the key to leadership.   

Furthermore, the sense of competition makes a successful leader. In the super-modern society, the tasks confronted by leaders are increasingly complex and complicated. Take the business world for example. The leader of a company must lead his or her organization to survive competition. Facing the external competitors, a sense of competition compels the leader to take advantage of various strategies to improve their service and product so as to win the other competitors. By doing so, instead of being left out and left behind, the leader are possible to make continuing profit in a changeable economic climate. For the internal employees, encouraging the competition spirit sometimes can boost the efficiency and productivity of the organization. In the sales department, for example, if a reward policy is adopted, the leader might promote a competitive atmosphere for the employees to compete against others to win the reward, and as a result the over all sales are promoted. However, competition is not always a good thing to have. An unhealthy realization of competition will harm the company and its future. For the sake of winning in competition in the market, some leader may use illegal means, such as stealing business information of their competitors. This will damage the interest of other companies and also will result in a reputation lapse of the company itself in the long run. Thus, the sense of competition of a leader includes not only being competitive but also being competitive whenever and wherever needed and applying this strategy in an appropriate way.

A sense of cooperation is also an essential element of good leadership. Cooperation, as a managerial strategy, will benefit the corporation from many aspects. For the internal operation of the organization, most of the tasks cannot be finished by individual effort. Cooperation can make use of every member's advantages and intelligence to maximize the productivity and efficiency. For the external competition in the market, cooperation is also an effective way to promote sales. As a business strategy, cooperation so as to competition has benefited many business institutions. This can be illustrated in the example of shopping center of certain kinds of goods, Such as the cell phone market. Many shops selling cell phones are located there. Why do the leaders of those shops choose a place that is replete with competitors? Don’t they be afraid to be beaten by their competitors? The answer is no because they are in a relationship of cooperation to attract more customers as people believe that they will have more choices in this kind of shopping center. In this case, neither shop has got all sales, but the over all sales of the market rise. And as a result, every shop is a winner. Here, the sense of cooperation of leader has taken effect. From all the above, we can see the sense of cooperation is important for the leaders not only in the company's operation but also in its profit-making in the market.

In sum, the sense of competition and cooperation makes one to be a leader; moreover, they both serve benefit purpose for a leader to run his or her institutions more successfully. The leader should realize both the merits and drawbacks of competition and cooperation, making use of them in a proper way, so as to achieve the final goal of the community.

【条理很清楚,分析的也不错。不过很多地方显得罗嗦,再简洁一点就更好了。因为考试的时候你没有时间来写这么多的东西的,尽量用最简洁的语言表达出来你的思路,只要表达清楚就可以了,不用把每个论点都说的那么多,可以把时间多用在完善你的思路上面,比如说你B2的结论部分和除了商业之外其他领域的论述。还有一个问题就是,看你限时的时间接近45分钟了,最好留出5分钟左右的时间检查typo和语法错误等等。加油!】

首先,在竞争里,用sales department内部举例,应该是有一点偏差吧,not the sense of leader but the encouragement the leader exert on the staff to compete .我觉得手机市场的例子来阐述cooperation 不是很恰当,那只是一种类似行会吧,是另一种竞争,商家之间本质上还是独立的啊,而且也没有体现出leader来。
不过,你的文章还是很流畅,词汇量很不错,句子也很漂亮。

的,我回去看了看,写错了,应该是Co-Opetition。原来没仔细看,以为就是竞争和合作结

合了,现在发现好像用在这里似乎不怎么合适。它应该只是指我说的手机市场那种情况。

2,buzzword,颠峰词汇???还没背过,这个词也是在这个百宝箱里学到的,poohJJ的宝贝

用处很大呢。

3,makes a leader and later a successful leader,我想我的主题句应该把主题部分的内容,结构都概括了,所以就写了这么个罗嗦的句子,如果写成makes leader successful 不是就不能体现b1的内容了?不过我觉得b1挺多余的,原来怕写不够。现在想删了算了吧,把后面的内容再充实下。

4,deliberately我想说有意识的,应该用什么呀?

5,【你的结论似乎归结到了竞争的意义上面,应该是归结到领导应该具备sense of competition上面才对】同意,我也觉得没落到主题上。

6,【其实他们同样也是要通过这样的方法来和别人竞争,应该严密一点,说他们不只是在竞争,同样是在合作】 是不只是合作,同样是在竞争吧:)因为我的确写出了合作而没突出竞争。

7,我也觉得罗嗦,就是面铺的太广,反倒很多都不能具体深入,有很多论点都只是泛泛分析了一下,没有将其具体化。这个原来写过提纲,写着写着发现原来的提纲没办法写,就临时组织了,结果有点收不住了。

8,“不用把每个论点都说的那么多,可以把时间多用在完善你的思路上面,比如说你B2的结论部分和除了商业之外其他领域的论述”对于这点我有些疑问,就是在论证的深入和全面上的取舍问题,我觉得应该保证前者。虽然老外范文不是很权威,但是我看他的很多范文只是从一两个方面来详细的分析。而这道题是有点不一样,因为它的限定已经在题目中出现了。我想问,像这种有没有必要把每个领域都提到,还是只要在某个方面提出另人信服的论证就可以了。

9,写到刚才我又发现了一个问题,其实我b2,b3部分都是拿take business world for example,可是没组织好,b3整个都感觉游历在这个example外了,要怎么改善呢?

呵呵,其实没想这样了,没有组织好。

好主意,这也是个不错的点:)

我觉得这个例子应该是可以的,它本来就用在一篇讲cooperation so as to competition的文章中作为例证的,不过它是说古董店,似乎,呵呵。

不过你的这个例子也很好呀,我考虑考虑。

4,用词的话在看文章的时候注意一些别人用的挺好,而你不会去用的词。尤其是一些很常用的,就像你说的benefit之类的。想想你平时是怎么表达这样的意思的,把它们联系起来。就会在自己写的时候变换了:)

1, 呵呵,其实我不知道left out是啥意思,没查到。不过他是在表达类似意思的句子中和left behind一起用的,所以我就把它们一起搬过来了。请教下left out什么意思呢?

嗯,应该是none才对。

5,首先,在竞争里,用sales department内部举例,应该是有一点偏差吧。

我觉得可以呀,领导者有竞争的意识也应该包括他认为竞争会带来哪些好处并且能够利用竞争达到某些目的。在这个例子里,领导者利用奖励销售成绩比较突出的员工就是利用了员工之间的竞争来提高公司总体的销售额。

6,我觉得手机市场的例子来阐述cooperation 不是很恰当,那只是一种类似行会吧,是另一种竞争,商家之间本质上还是独立的啊,而且也没有体现出leader来。

看来对于这个例子大家都有点疑问,可能这种观点比较少见吧。这也并不是我的观点,在pooh JJ的百宝箱和imong曾经的一篇素材精读的贴子里都提到了这种通过cooperate so as to compete 的观点。我觉得很好,所以就用在了自己的文章里。

其实我原稿的时候的确没突出leader,于是我改动了一个句子。Why do the leaders of those shops choose a place that is replete with competitors? 但是由于后面没有做相应的改动,指代词有点混乱,所以突出地不是很好,我再考虑下。

A sense of cooperation is also an essential element of good leadership. Cooperation, as a managerial strategy, will benefit the corporation from many aspects. For the internal operation of the organization, most of the tasks cannot be finished by individual effort. Cooperation can make use of every member's advantages and intelligence to maximize the productivity and efficiency. For the external competition in the market, cooperation is also an effective way to promote sales. As a business strategy, cooperation so as to competition has benefited many business institutions. This can be illustrated in the example of shopping center of certain kinds of goods, Such as the cell phone market. Many shops selling cell phones are located there. Why do the leaders of those shops choose a place that is replete with competitors? Don’t they be afraid to be beaten by their competitors? The answer is no because they are in a relationship of cooperation to attract more customers as people believe that they will have more choices in this kind of shopping center. In this case, neither shop has got all sales, but the over all sales of the market rise. And as a result, every shop is a winner. Here, the sense of cooperation of leader has taken effect. In sum, the sense of competition and cooperation makes one to be a leader; moreover, they both serve benefit purpose for a leader to run his or her institutions more successfully. The leader should realize both the merits and drawbacks of competition and cooperation, making use of them in a proper way, so as to achieve the final goal of the community.
