Issue 12
People’s attitudes are determined more by their immediate situation or surroundings than by any internal characteristic.
人们的态度更多情况下取决于当时的环境和处境,并非人们的性格特点。
People’s attitudes always depend on the immediate situation or surroundings when they are facing to as well as on their internal characteristic. It is hard to reach a conclusion that which one impacts people’s attitudes more. Only by their interaction, as far as I am concerned, can our ideas come into being for us to adapt to the real world.
Actually, there is no doubt that immediate situation and surroundings play an important role in our attitude shaping when we make a judgment in occasions. For example, when we are confronted a crisis which we can not avoid and haven’t any preparation for it, probably, we will become nervous, with fear accessing to us. This phenomenon can illustrate that our attitudes can be influenced by the immediate situation and surroundings. Further more, As long as the situation and surroundings around us varies, accordingly, our attitude will change.
However, the discussion above can not cover all the aspects describing the topic all-round. Undoubtedly, internal characteristic is another crucial factor that has a strong impact on our viewpoint, which can not be ignored in any case. As can be generally accepted that everyone’s attitude to a thing is unlike to others’ more or less, that results in different reflection towards the same situation and surroundings. Therefore, we can assume that if a same emergency is occurred, different people will have different idea. Someone, who is cowardly, will become nervous and shocked, contrarily, another one who is brave, maybe show their calm and collected behave. But suppose the coward one is confronted the same crisis again and again, consequently, he (or she) will know how to deal with it with his (or her) experience accumulated. It is because of the interaction between the two factors can situation and surroundings make an effect on people’s inside-characteristic.
As a matter of fact, people’s attitudes are determined by the compound effect of situation and characteristic. It is unilateral for us to say that our attitudes only depend on each one of them, likewise that which one weighs more. In summary, Each one of them plays its role in the process of our idea coming into being, and can not work without the other. |
