ISSUE235: Most people are taught that loyalty is a virtue. But loyalty—whether to one's friends, to one's school or place of employment, or to any institution—is all too often a destructive rather than a positive force.

The speaker asserts that loyalty is all to often a destructive rather than a positive force. However, in my point of view, I strongly disagree with this idea since loyalty is a precious and indispensable virtue that are needed in various relationships though overrating would lead to division and even destruction.

To begin with, loyalty serves as a basal factor in the personal relationship such as friends and spouses and other exclusive pairs. As we know, mutual trust is required in order to make the relationship enduring and immaculate. Undoubtedly, loyalty is part-and-parcel of that kind of trust. Take friendship for example. This loyalty between friends would make them trust each other sincerely and share their joyance and affliction with their friends. Moreover, loyal friends would be a effective way to turn for help whenever they encounter difficulties and challenges which, ultimately would make friendship more steady and immaculate. On the other hand, without the necessary loyalty between friends, the friendship would become weaker as time goes by since the most important part of friendship--trust has been lost. To put it more simply, without loyalty, which leads to the necessary trust, there would be no really sincere personal relationship between people.

Furthermore, loyalty is also a significant virtue in everyday work. With such loyalty, the work efficient can be greatly increased and thus better for the survival of companies and other organizations. Loyalty between the boss and his underlying would necessarily make the instructions more efficiently to accomplish and loyalty between colleagues undoubtedly would make the work environment more harmony since no suspicion would ever exist and better for everyone to have a good mood to work more efficiently. To support this, one needs to look no further than those Japanese multinational companies. It is the loyalty between the employee and the boss as well as the loyalty to the companies that finally make these companies famous and successful which ultimately serves as the foundation of economic stability and prosperity.

What is more, in order for the development of the whole country, loyalty is also in great demand. With loyalty to people's own country, they would work together to make their country more prosperous and what is more important, to resist aggressors whenever there is a invasion of the country. And this loyalty ultimately would make the country progress. Without mutual loyalty between a sovereign state and its citizenry there can be no security or safety from either invasion or revolt. The society would soon devolve to an anarchy one or into a despotic state ordered by brute force.

Admittedly, misguided or overextend loyalty can sometimes amount to a divisive and even destructive force. Nazism would be a fit example. Due to the misguided assertion by Hitler and the Nazis, the ordinary people hold overextend loyalty to the Naziism and their country exclusively that finally proved to be an error. But this is not to say that loyalty is harmful. What we should do is to put a balance on the loyalty.

To sum up, loyalty is indeed a precious and indispensable virtue whether to the development of personal relationship and the prosperity of the whole country though to some extent overextended loyalty can sometimes be a harmful and destructive force rather than a positive force.

The speaker asserts that loyalty is all to (too) often a destructive (destruction) rather than a positive force. However, in my point of view, I strongly disagree with this idea since loyalty is a precious and indispensable virtue that are (is) needed in various relationships though overrating would lead to (这里需要加冠词吗?) division and even destruction.

Moreover, loyal friends would be a (an) effective way to turn for help whenever they encounter difficulties and challenges which, ultimately would make friendship more steady and immaculate (主干是loyal friends would be a way?).

With such loyalty, the work efficient (efficiency) can be greatly increased and thus better for the survival of companies and other organizations. Loyalty between the boss and his underlying (这是一个adj?) would necessarily make the instructions more efficiently (efficient?这里用ADJ更好一些,你觉得呢?) to accomplish and loyalty between colleagues undoubtedly would make the work environment more harmony (harmonious?) since no suspicion would ever exist and better for everyone to have a good mood to work more efficiently. To support this, one needs to look no further than those Japanese multinational companies. It is the loyalty between the employee and the boss as well as the loyalty to the companies that finally make these companies famous and successful which ultimately serves as the foundation of economic stability and prosperity.

With loyalty to people's own country, they would work together to make their country more prosperous and what is more important, to resist aggressors whenever there is a (an) invasion of the country. And this loyalty ultimately would make the country progress. Without mutual loyalty between a sovereign state and its citizenry there can be no security or safety from either invasion or revolt. But this is not to say that loyalty is harmful. What we should do is to put a balance on the loyalty.

To sum up, loyalty is indeed a precious and indispensable virtue whether to the development of personal relationship and (or?) the prosperity of the whole country though to some extent overextended loyalty can sometimes be a harmful and destructive force rather than a positive force.
