The speaker contends that immediate problems of today should draw more attention form governments than the anticipated problems of the future. I agree with the speaker insofar as governments should pay more attention on solving the immediate problems of today, but the anticipated problems of the future should also be paid much attention, that is, governments should try their best to keep balance on such issues.

To begin with, with the rapid and ever accelerating development of technology, appeared many social as well as other problems, such as unemployment, interacted with the ever lasting problems as war and poverty, to solve it became more complex than ever before, each of such immediate problems calls for solving them as soon as possible. Otherwise, the nation's stability and prosperity may be significantly impaired. The Industry Revolution brought profound changes to human life and greatly enhanced people's living condition，however, along with such benefits also appeared unemployment. In turn, unemployment brought many social problems, crimes, for example. Unemployment already became the most serious problems in many countries. If let unemployment unsolved, it may greatly endanger the stability of the nation. Sometimes, there also are some unexpected problems, such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outburst in Guangdong, one of China's province located in the south of China, SARS spread rapidly across the World and infect many countries. Many lives were lost caused by this disease. Under such condition, the government should immediately employ regulations to solve them, otherwise, not only lost many lives but the nation's stability.

However, the anticipated problems of the future should also draw as much attention. Take pollution for example, the other side effect brought by Industry Revolution is pollution. Many observers already pointed that if let the problems in its own hand, many years latter, human would have to witness the extinction of many kind of animals as well as plants, and the destructive effect on human lives. Such as the destruction of ozone layer may make human suffer a lot due to the ultraviolet ray. And carbon dioxide causes the global warming may change the climate on the earth, many places may be flood due to the excessive rain while other areas may be dry out. Some other anticipated problems such as the effect of deforestation also should draw much attention from governments. To prevent such disasters to happen, governments should focus much attention of solve the pollution problems. Solving the anticipated problems only after solving the immediate problems of today is a symbol of irresponsible for our decedents. How can we imagine we just leave a wrecked world, with no plants, no animals, and no nature beauty, to our future generations, leaving them surrounded only by skyscrapers, and special made clothes to keep them form harmful ultraviolet ray.

Governments should keep balance between solving the immediate and the anticipated problems of the future. If the immediate problems such as SARS should be solved as soon as possible, and the less severe problems such as poverty which exist in ever society can let way to some anticipated problems as pollution for our future generation's sake.

To sum up, both immediate problems of today and the anticipated problems of the future are important, government should not ignore any of them, and should keep balance to solve them.
