1. Story telling

One day, a gentleman was trying to buy a birthday gift for his ?.in a gift shop. He saw a very nice vase and liked it very much. He decided to buy that vase for his 缮 He checked out at the counter and had the vase wrapped, then walked toward his car. While he was getting inside his car, he accidentally dropped the gift on the ground. Since he was rushing to the party, he didn't have time to open the gift to double check if the vase was ok. At the party, he gave the gift to his ?., his ?opened the gift, she was so happy to see a beautiful vase, the gentleman felt released to see that the vase wasn't damaged.

2. if you were to give a gift to a friend or a relative which would you prefer, money or gift certificate or a gift personally chosen by you? explain why.

If I 缮. give a gift to a friend or a relative, I would prefer to give a gift chosen by myself because I would like to show my friends or relatives my inputs on the gift.  The gift I chose would tell them how I care about them. In addition, I usually know my friends and relatives very well, I know what kind of gift they may like. If I simply give money or gift certificate to my friends or relatives, they may feel that I don't really care about them that much. For these reasons, I would prefer to 缮?

3. give the advantages of working in a challenging environment and working in a predictable, routinary environment.

One of the advantages of working in a challenging environment is that it is very interesting and exciting. You
In addition, the challenging working environment force you to improve yourself all the time, you have more chances to keep up yourself with latest professional knowledge.

On the other hand, an advantage of working in a predictable, routinary environment is that you don't suffer any stress. You can be very familiar with what you need to do everyday. In addition, You don't have to spend extra time at work, you are able to spend more time with your family and friends.

4. what are the changes in your life if you become famous?

If I became famous, the first change in my life would be that I can be very rich. Famous people usually have more opportunities to make big moneys. They can make money from doing advertisement, writing the autobiographies, or giving a public speech. Another change in my life would be that I will be able to visit many different places and meet other famous people all over the world. These are two good changes in my life if I became famous. However, there would be bad changes too. For example, my privacy would be invaded by public if I became famous.


5. a pie graph about the use of freetime of people (in a certain state) in 1999 and 2000. tell something about the graph.

These pie charts compare the how people in ?state spent their freetime in 1999 and 2000. It can be seen that in the year 1999 that people spent 20% of their time in reading, 10% In playing computer games. However, in 2000, people spent  10% of their time in reading, 30% of their time in playing computer games. Thus, it can be concluded from these pie charts that the time of people spent in reading decreased dramatically, the graph alos shows that the time of people spent in playing computer games increased significantly in 2000.

6. do you think that playing video games for children will be beneficial for them? why or why not?

I don't think that playing video games will be benefical for children. First of all, playing video games can be very addictive. As long as children start to play video games, they usually don't know when they should stop. It is a big waste of children's time. Secondly, when children are playing video games, they tend to staring at the screen all the time, it is very harmful for their vision. I actually had personal experience about this issue, one of my nieces became nearsighted after she played too much video games. For these reasons, I would say that playing video game has no any benefit for children.




7. workplace situation: you just came back from a vacation; tell interesting that happened during your historical tour, tell your officemate why it is also fun for her to have that kind of vacation.

Hi, Jim, it is so nice to see you again. As you know I just came back from my vacation. I went to visit Egypt. Egypt is the home of the pyramids. I saw those famous pyramids there. I was so amazed by their size and shape. They are one of the seven wonders of the world. I actually read several books about the pyramids before I went there. Scholars actually don't know for sure how the pyramids were constructed. It is somewhat of a mystery. I know that you are very interested in historic sites, I think that it would be very fun for you to visit one of the cradles of civilization.

One day, A tourist went to a park and tried to take a picture of a monument. He accidentally tripped over a stone and dropped the camera on the ground. The camera was broken and didn't work anymore. The guy had to send his camera to a camera store to get it repaired. A couple of hours later, the guy came back to the camera story and picked up his camera. He went back to the park and still wanted to take the picture of the monument, unfortunately, it started raining very hard. The guy had to give up, and he decided to go to the store and buy a monument postcard.

2. Advantages and disadvantages of of increasing tourist in the city.

An advantage of increasing tourist is that the tourists will help the city's local economy. Tourists will spend money on food, accommodations, and souvenirs while visiting. Those who have a store or provide services to tourists will be able to run a good business in this city. On the other hand, a disadvantage of increasing tourist in the city is that often the streets will be crowded with strangers. Tourists may not care about taking care of the town. Some tourists will throw garbage on the streets or some other places. They may expect that the local city will clean up after them.

3. Advantages and disadvanatges of studying abroad.

An advantage of studying abroad is that it will help you to understand other people, cultures, and languages. It can also help people to be more open minded. The people I know who have lived abroad, seem to appreciate more and be more accepting of other people's way of life. On the other hand, a disadvantage of studying abroad is that it can be quite expensive. On average,Tuitions are much higher in foreign countries. In addition, it can be a very lonely time for some people. It is often hard to make friends. While trying to adjust to a new way of life in a foreign country, people often experience some depression.

Training is about
teaching students the basic techniques for working in a research laboratory. We also need to teach students how to read scientific research paper, and how to write scientific research report.
Please help me to find some research laboratory training menu so that I can use it as references. Also, I know that you have great experience about training students, I would really appreciate if you could give me some advice on this training.

7. They will be reconstucting the road infront of your workplace for 6 months. How would it affect the people in that area?

It will affect people in that area in some ways. First of all, people will have hard time to drive through that road. There will be bad traffic in that area all the time. Some people might have to avoid that area by driving in a much longer ways. Secondly, the reconstruct?will make great noise in that area, people will probably start complaining about the bad noise. Last but not least, the constructi?will make the local environment very dirty, it can be very dusty in that area. These are few main affections the ?..will bring to that area.
