已经看过f6两遍了,这两天有个师姐也一直在看,发现还是很喜欢f6,下午闲来无事就自己整理了一些词组,常用的俚语,这样整理下来很累,要几个小时,但是通过这种梳理可以学到很多东西,在这里我帖了自己觉得需要记住,以后可以拿来用的东东,也欢迎大家跟帖或者讨论.后面的典故我转贴于f6论坛

Season0101-----It all began

Ross: I just feel like someone reached down my throat, grabbed my small intestine, pulled it out of my mouth and tied it around my neck..这段话是不是很熟悉呀？对，《大话西游》里面一开始孙猴子发狠就是这样子讲的哦，不知道是谁抄袭谁，意思不用我解释了吧，这里Ross用来形容妻子Carol是Lesbian并同他离婚后的心情。

Rachel: I realized that I was more turned on by this gravy boat than by Barry! And then I got really freaked out, and that's when it hit me: how much Barry looks like Mr. Potato Head.
Be turned on: 在美国如果不是指打开什么东西时，一般都指引起人的性兴奋
gravy boat：调味汁瓶酱油瓶,前面说到的 lamauge应该是牌子或生产地

Joey: You got screwed.意思是你受骗了

Paul: Ever since she walked out on me, I, uh...
Monica: What?..... What, you wanna spell it out with noodles?
Walked out on me:抛弃我
spell it out: explain it

Paul: No, it's, it's more of a fifth date kinda revelation.这句语法结构不知道怎么分析，意思就是，这该是第五次约会时候才说的事儿。

l'mThis is the dear diary moment.   Chandler评论Monica终于可以跟Paul约会时说的.意思是终于被你等到了.意即可以被载入日记,非常让人难忘.

Joey在安慰Ross’天涯何处无芳草’时打的一个比方,有很多口味的冰激凌(大家知道Joey一向很喜欢拿食物做比方^_^). Rocky Road 是一种冰淇淋，里面有 坚果，巧克力和蜜饯, 由于这些东西让冰淇淋不smooth，所以叫它 rocky road .Cookie Dough制甜酥饼干面团, bing就是一个拟声词.jimmies是一种经常撒在ice cream上的巧克力味的小糖果棒.whipped cream是生奶油。

在这里horny不是多角粗糙的意思,Horny: Desirous of sexual activity.

Freezer:冰箱,或者经常简化为frige

Joey: Listen, while you're on a roll, if you feel like you gotta make like a Western omelet or something…..

there was no snap in his turtle for two years.
这是一种隐讳的表示”无能”的说法,至于从哪里来的,我查了相关的笔记,说是北美有一种snapping turtle会咬人或者动物,那么a snapping turtle without no snap就是指powerless

Monica :come on ,you cannot live off your parents your whole life
Live off :靠…生活
It sucks:很常用的一个说法.意思是"很残酷"。

Ross: Okay. (They split it.) You know you probably didn't know this, but back in high school, I had a, um, major crush on you. 这里又有一个经典的词组，have a crush on sb.对某人一见钟情，Ross在这里加上了major,意思是非常喜欢的意思


Mr. Potato Head
瑞秋和众人谈到了她逃婚的原因，她说这是因为她突然发现她的未婚夫巴里医生长得活像
“薯头先生(Mr．Potato Head)”，这是在美国家喻户晓的卡通人物。如果大家看过《玩具
总动员(Toy Story)》，就会在里面发现他和他的夫人“薯头太太(Mrs．Potato Head)”叽
叽歪歪，经常批评这、批评那的形象。尽管“薯头先生”很可爱，但卡通毕竟是卡通，如
果你在乎未婚夫的容貌，而未婚夫又不幸长得和“薯头先生”一副嘴脸，你最好还是和瑞
秋一样赶紧逃婚。:-)
Mento
Mento是曼妥思糖(Mentos)的简称。在钱德勒和乔伊安慰离婚的罗斯时，钱德勒说他和乔伊
与女孩的关系从来没有“长过嚼一颗曼妥思糖的时间(lasted longer than a Mento)”；
以劝慰罗斯放开一点。
Billy don't be a hero
这是一首著名的反战歌曲，歌中有一句词说：“比利，不要成为一个英雄(Billy，do
n't be a hero)。回来，让我成为你的妻子。’在剧中，乔伊劝告罗斯忘记前妻卡罗尔，
再找新的女友，罗斯非常不满，他反问乔伊：那“比利，不要成为一个英雄”这个故事对
你有何启发?这里罗斯把找新女友比喻成上战场。
Barn raising scene in Witness
哈里森，福特主演的《目击者(Witness)》一片中，被迫杀的警察布克为了逃脱敌人而被迫
躲在农村，宁静的乡村生活中大家合力盖谷仓的场景是电影中层现快乐生活的精彩片断。
在《老友记》剧中，刚和莫尼卡共度良宵的保罗为了形容他的快感，说和莫尼卡做爱要超
过“所有生日、两次毕业典礼再加上《目击者》电影里合力盖起谷仓那种快乐”。
Pinocchio，Geppetto
这就是大家耳熟能详的木偶皮诺曹和他的制造者、老木匠葛佩托。剧中，这是乔伊曾经
出演过的剧目。
Liza Minelli
该集最后一个场景，钱德勒再次提到他做的梦，他梦见自己是“丽莎·米内利(Liza M
inelli)”。丽莎是名演员、曾主演《绿野仙踪》的裘迪·迦伦的女儿，本人也于1 9 7 3
年因为在《小酒馆(Cabaret)》一片中的精彩演出而获得奥斯卡最佳女主角奖。

Chandler: Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y'know? I mean it's like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out.
Chandler也发表了自己的观点，他说接吻很大程度上像是序幕（an opening act）,像是你听Pink Floyd的音乐会之前不得不忍受的笑星们的表演一样。Pink Floyd是美国一支很著名的乐队。

Chandler: The problem is, though, after the concert's over, no matter how great the show was, you girls are always looking for the comedian again, y'know? I mean, we're in the car, we're fighting traffic... basically just trying to stay awake.

Marsha: Well, she has issues.
Issues在这里是烦恼、问题的意思，以后碰到别人好像闷闷不乐的时候，你就可以上前来上一句Do you have any issues?还记得第一集里的Rachel:Ohh,I was kinda hoping that wouldn't be an issue……在谈到她没邀请monica参加婚礼时也用了issue这个词,issue非常常用,这里的意思是甭提这件事了.总归issue的意思在口语里有不好的事情的意思.

Marsha:he is banging other woman over the head aclub.
Banging:一个俚语,整句话的意思是在外面乱搞女人

Phoebe: Monica- Hi! Um, Monica, you're scaring me. I mean, you're like, you're like all chaotic and twirly. And not-not in a good way.
chaotic and twirly是表示举止反常的意思吧。
Phoe对正在弄枕头的mon说的“chaotic and twirly”其实是老美要来形容人“慌慌张张的……”的意思。（chaotic混乱的 、twirly团团转的）

Lasagna:烤宽面条
Dinah =noodle

Rachel: Oh, like I wasn't dreading tomorrow enough, having to give it back to him... 'Hi Barry! Remember me? I'm the girl in the veil who stomped on your heart in front of your entire family!' Oh God and now I'm gonna have to return the ring, without the ring, which makes it so much harder...
这里“stomp on one’s heart”stomp是用脚踏的意思，可以想象用脚踏在心上是什么意思了吧，对，就是让人心碎的意思。

Chandler: Kinda puts that whole pillow thing in perspective, huh, Mon?“.
这句话的意思比较令人费解，结合场景，这里应该是Chandler挖苦Monica不该早些把枕头提前完全搞好。In perspective这里是提前的意思。

chandler说monica:You don't get a lot of 'doy' these days
doy指的是stupid的意思

Mrs. Geller: They all had a thing for him.
have thing for him 喜欢他

Monica: I know this is going to sound unbelievably selfish, but, were you planning on bringing up the whole baby/lesbian thing? Because I think it might take some of the heat off me.
Ross和Monica的父母来看望他们，由于从小父母就喜欢Ross（因为Ross成绩优异，为人老实，而Monica性格独立，而且那时候还很胖chubby）,所以在吃饭的时候老是无意识的讽刺Monica,于是Monica想让Ross提提自己老婆是Lesbian而且有了孩子的事儿转移注意力。Take some of the heat off sb,这里是帮Monica减轻压力的意思。

Mrs. Geller: What that Rachel did to her life.... We ran into her parents at the club, they were not playing very well.
Ran into someone 碰巧遇见,这个词组非常常用,在下面的故事里总会反复出现

Joey: Your folks are really that bad, huh?
folks在这里指父母,经常说folks而不是parents.

Ross: Well, you may wanna steer clear of the word 'dumped'.
这里又出现了steer clear of这个词组,有避开的意思

ob/gyn的正确意思 Main Entry: OB-GYN
Function: abbreviation：obstetrician gynecologist, obstetrics gynecology

Ross: (entering) Sorry I'm late, I was stuck at work.
be stuck at work.工作忙,^_^这个词组值得一记

Rachel: Oh! Well, um.. (Grabs his forehand) You've got plugs!
Got plugs 做了植发.

Ross: 'S'funny, um, uh, we agreed we'd spend the rest of our lives together. Things change, roll with the punches. I believe Julia's on the table..?“roll with the punches”
punch除了打孔机的意思之外，还有打击的意思，这里应该是说，让这些打击减轻一些吧（Roll就是滚的意思，那当然是减轻了）。“on the table”是“在桌面上，公开的”意思，Ross认为如果他和Carol的孩子是女儿的话，应该光明堂皇的叫做Julia。

Mother-to-be:准妈妈

Ross: You are, you're welling up.
Well up:在这里是热泪盈眶的意思


Pink Flovd
平克•弗洛伊德(Pink Floyd)是美国著名的歌手，他演唱的《白色圣诞》脍炙人口。中钱
德勒等人在讨论男女对接吻的不同看法。钱德勒说，对于男人来说，接吻就像平克•弗洛
伊德出场前进行垫场演出的喜剧演员似的(It's like the stand-up comedian you have
to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out．)。
The Enterprise
老友们在看罗斯儿子在卡罗尔肚子里的扫描图时，钱德勒说了一句：“我认为它将会
攻击企业号(Enterprise)。”这是钱德勒在形容还在肚里的胎儿长得像外星人，因为“企
业号”是美国第一架航天飞机的名字。

Joey: Yeah. Cushions the blow.
可怜的Rach问是不是只有她是颗嫩草，善解人意的Joey来了这么一句，意思是take it easy.想想看吧，cushion是垫子的意思，用垫子承接打击，当然是放轻松点的意思咯。这可以作为固定用法记下来。

Chandler: Alright, now try taking a puff.
taking a puf=To smoke (a cigar, for example).

Phoebe: It's nothing, it's just- Okay. I'm going through my mail, and I open up their monthly, you know, STATEMENT
STATEMENT:常用意思是陈述,报告.这里我第一次知道这个词有借贷报告书的意思.难怪phoebe说到这个词时提高了声调

Phoebe: Okay. I'd- just- I'd never be able to enjoy it. It would be like this giant karmic debt
giant karmic debt:是指是指因果报应，业债

Monica: I mean, why should I let them meet him? I mean, I bring a guy home, and within five minutes they're all over him. I mean, they're like- coyotes, picking off the weak members of the herd.
all over him:不喜欢他.
Coyote是一种产于北美大草原的小狼，可以和hyena一起记忆。Pick off the weak members of the herd,摘取、挑选弱处下手的意思。

Joey: You can come in, but your filter-tipped little buddy has to stay outside
filter-tipped:过滤嘴香烟

要说的是Who's gonna take the first shot?很常用的口语,谁第一个来?

Pretzel: 椒盐脆饼干.呵呵,发现我对食物很敏感
Phoebe: Does anyone want the rest of this Pop-Tart?
Pop-Tart: 面有果酱或果陷的小圆饼

Ross: Okay. I think it's time to change somebody's nicotine patch.
本来不知道什么是nicotine patch的,后来看到ross给chand贴了一片东西才知道这个东西就是戒烟贴

Phoebe: Wait, wait, I'm getting a deja vu...no, I'm not.
deja vu n. 似曾相识的感觉；幻觉记忆
(French expression adopted in English) a feeling that you are seeing something you have 'already seen' before ... in a past life, dream, etc...

There was a crooked man
莫尼卡的男友阿兰受到了大家的好评，乔伊说他的笑容扭曲得很可爱。菲比就引用了一段
儿歌，说：“曾经有一个扭曲的人(There was a crooked man)，他有一个扭曲的笑容，他
生活在一只鞋子里……”事实上，这是西方流传已广的儿歌《鹅妈妈歌谣》，不过，菲比
将引文全部引错了，原文是“走在一条一英里(Mile)长的扭曲道路上”，而不是“扭曲的
笑容(Smile)”；歌中人生活在“扭曲的小屋子里”，而不是生活在鞋子里。所以大家听菲
比这么一说都有点困惑。但这可能不是菲比的错，或许是菲比的妈妈一开始就教错了，还
记得菲比曾经以为某部关于狗的片子真的是喜剧收场吗?
David Hasselhoff
钱德勒在夸奖莫尼卡的男友阿兰时说，就凭他“戴维•哈塞霍夫(David Hasselhoff)”般
的表情，连钱德勒自己都想嫁给他。说着，钱德勒还学了一个表情。戴维•哈塞霍夫是著
名的歌手兼偶像，曾主演过《霹雳游侠》和《杰克和海德》。
Bugs Bunny
罗斯等和阿兰出去打球，阿兰身手矫健，在所有关键的位置上出现。罗斯形容他就像著名
的动画片“兔巴哥(Bugs Bunny)”里面打垒球的“兔巴哥”，一会在一垒，一会在二垒，
一会又在三垒。

Nod off=take a nap:打瞌睡
"The glass is half empty."
有这样的一种比喻“如果有一个只装了一半水的水杯，乐观者认为‘水杯有一半是满得’悲观者则认为‘有一半是空的’”，这就是“pessimist”和“The glass is half empty.”关系的由来。
CHAN说的“Mr. "The glass is half empty."”确实等于pessimist（悲观主义者）的意思，当ROSS说“我猜你们是因为多出来一张票而不知道叫谁一起去，所以才叫我的”，现在爱搞笑的CHAN又开始发挥他的幽默去企图否认ROSS的看法，于是狡辩到：“哈哈，你以为我们像这么悲观的人吗？（潜台词是：你以为我们真的是惨到找不到其他的人一起去才找你吗？）”呵呵，其实CHAN的幽默对中国人来说，有时候理解起来会有点费劲～～意会吧！

的动物保护节目。
Jack and the Beanstalk
瑞秋后悔自己离家出走，菲比则用《杰克和魔豆(Jack and the Beanstalk)》的故事劝慰
她。这是著名的西方童话：杰克用一头牛换了三颗魔豆，妈妈生气地将魔豆扔出窗外，第
二天魔豆长得高入云霄，杰克爬上魔豆，从巨人那里偷走了金币和会下金蛋的母鸡。菲比
的用意是告诉瑞秋，虽然你放弃了牛，但你得到了自立生活的魔豆。
George Stephannopoulos
莫尼卡发现送比萨饼的把比萨送错了，送到了对面楼里的乔治•斯特凡诺普洛斯(Geo
rge Stephanopoulos)手里，莫尼卡为此感到兴奋，因为斯特凡诺普洛斯是一位很有名的人
。现实生活中，斯特凡诺普洛斯是克林顿总统时期白宫负责政策和政治运作的总统高级顾
问，后离职去哥伦比亚大学教书，其人长得英俊性感，因此莫尼卡和瑞秋等很激动。

blow one’s mind 又是一个很好的口语，它表示 “对某件事情感到既惊奇又兴奋”

Chandler: No, I know, but it's just so hard, you know? I mean, you're sitting there with her, she has no idea what's happening, and then you finally get up the courage to do it, and there's the horrible awkward moment when you've handed her the note.
get up the courage to do it：鼓起勇气做某事,记得论坛上曾有人问过这个词组. 类似的词组还有nerve oneself to do sth，be on one’s mettle to do sth，take heart of grace to do sth…

Phoebe: (to Rachel) What's the matter? Why so scrunchy?
scrunch的意思是嘎吱嘎吱的响声；揉成一团，pheobe说话总是很形象，scrunchy这词感觉大概就是形容，心里不舒服，搅来搅去烦得想揍人
Rachel: It's my father. He wants to give me a Mercedes convertible.
Mercedes convertible: Mercedes---应该很熟吧,就是Mercedes—Benz.convertible:以前只是知道是可以转换的意思,现在知道还有敞篷车的意思

Madcap gal,又是带点贬义色彩的人: madcap指狂妄的人(尤指女子).gal: 女孩(=girl), 少女

Joey: ...I'm his butt double
Double:替身演员

Rachel: Ooh, do I sense a little bit of resentment?
这个用法比较地道，“我怎么感觉到了一点儿怨恨的味道？”，

Chandler: ...Well, y'know, part of me wants that, but it's like I'm two guys, y'know? I mean, one guy's going 'Shut up! This is great!' But there's this other guy. Actually it's the same guy that wells up every time that Grinch's heart grows three sizes and breaks that measuring device... And he's saying, y'know, 'This is too hard! Get out! Get out!'
人都有欲望和理智，我喜欢Chandler和其他老友，不是因为他们只有理智没有情感，而是因为他们有着原始的本能，但却能够控制邪念，Chandler本来以为自己能够接受和Aurora的不正当关系，但是终归还是说服了自己。这里他就很直白的说出了心声，内心中两个人不断拌嘴和斗争。Well up涌出、涌现、涌起。Grinch好像是圣诞节故事中的一个童话人物。

Rachel: Really? Just casually strewn about in that reckless haphazard manner?
casually偶然地、随便地、临时的；Reckless不计后果地；haphazard偶然地、随便地。Strewn about中，strewn是strew的过去式，about相当于around。

Raggedy Ann
众人批评莫尼卡的洁癖。罗斯说，当他们还是小孩时，大家都有“破烂娃娃(Raggedy Ann
)”这款玩具，但你的是惟一一个不破烂的。“破烂娃娃”是由漫画家约翰尼•格鲁埃尔根
据女儿的一个破娃娃创造的艺术形象，诞生于1918年的圣诞。由于这个破娃娃是从奶奶的
箱子里翻出来的，所以是很破烂的形象，但迎合了人们寻求手工制作玩具的潮流，因此很
受欢迎。问题是莫尼卡要把这样一个“破烂娃娃”都修理打扮地完美，确实有一点强迫症
。
Grinch's heart
钱德勒碰上了以色列女兵奥罗拉，奥罗拉不仅有丈夫、情人，还有像钱德勒一样的露
水夫妻。钱德勒显然无法这么前卫，他告诉奥罗拉：每一次见到她，他都在两个自我之中
交战，一个说这样不错，你又不损失什么；另一个则像“圣诞怪杰(Grinch)”的心长大了
三倍一样，告诉他要结束这段关系。“圣诞怪杰”是1966年哥伦比亚广播公司(CBS)创造的
一个形象，他非常嫉恨人们过圣诞节，但最后他的心长大了三倍，高兴地力口入了庆祝圣
诞节的行列中。金•凯瑞近年曾经拍过以这个故事为题材的电影《鬼精灵》。

这里有一个词,loathe:表示厌恶,憎恨,与hate同意,不过程度更深一些

Impish: 小鬼似的; 顽皮的, 淘气的

Joey: Hey Ross. This probably isn't the best time to bring it up, but you have to throw a party for Monica.

这是迪斯尼乐园“奇幻王国”的一个旅游项目“小世界”，人们坐着船顺着水道漂行
，岸两边有机械控制的小人载歌载舞，服装和背景反映世界各国的风貌。剧中罗斯回忆自
