The absence of choice is a circumstance that is very, very rare.

The author asserts that a circumstance that we are lack of choice is very, very rare. It seems to be reasonable at first glance, since in the democratic society, people can make choice for them whenever they like, however, after thorough analysis, in my point view, I disagree the author's assertion, that is ,in many circumstance, we are indeed absence of choice. I will discuss as follows.

In the first place,  it is quite common that we are lack of choices. Sometimes, we are lack of the matters which we want to choose; other times, we are lack of the rights to choose, since these kinds of right are dominant by other people, rather than ourselves. There are many examples in our daily lives to support my opinion. For example, when we came to a bookstore, and wanted to buy a book about a kind of philosophy opinion, while this kind of philosophy books are sold out, in this kind of circumstance, we are lack of the matters we want to choose, let alone to choose between different philosophy books. Another apt example to illustrate my opinion is that when students in China want to study abroad, we can take part in the exam such as TOFEL, GRE, LAST, and so on. While if he want to apply the law school in North America, thus, he has no choice ,only to participate the LAST exam, because it is American education system that decide such kind of matters, rather than ourselves. When we meet such kind of things, we are lack of choice.

In the second place, it seems that people can have many choices with different thing, but they must follow the basic natural rule and the law of the society, based on such kind of opinion, people have no choices. For instance, people can choose the place where they go to school, but they can not obey the rule of study, such as one first entered into university, when after that, he came back to elementary school to keep on study. In the field of science, people can use different ways to explore the unknown, while all the scientists establish the theory following the same process as first finding a question, then putting forward to a premise, finally proving the premise based on the data and establishing the theory. It is ridiculous to make a theory without the scientific research. In our daily life, people can use different ways to make money, yet if he infringes law and imparts other interests, he will gain the penalty of the law.

Last but not least, to a democracy country, people can make many kinds of policies and have many kinds of methods to deal with the issues. However, these methods must accord with the conditions of the country, and the purpose of them must propel the society make progress, and level the quality of people normal life; otherwise the government will be resigned in near further. From this kind of perspective view, people also have no choice. The government must take the following factors into consideration: the industry, agriculture, education and so on. Only after the government consider the basic condition of above aspects, it can make the development plan for next year.

To sum up, due to the above mentioned reason, which correlate with each other to generate a integrate whole and become more convincing than any single one , we may comfortable to say that we are indeed lack of choices in many times because the restriction of basic rules, society laws and other objective conditions.
