观点：不但与日常生活相关的有价值，与日常生活关系不那么明显的、无关的也有价值。

3、        很明显，与日常生相关的有价值，研究历史可以改进我们的日常生活质量。比如研究以前某一长寿民族的饮食结构可能能够改进我们现在的饮食，增长寿命；研究交通工具的发展历史可以使我们研制出更快、更省钱的交通。
4、        与日常生活不相关的历史研究也一样有价值，它可以使人们的思想超越日常生活，更好地理解人类社会、自然和宇宙，防止灾难性问题的出现。对二战的研究，可以让我们知道极端种族主义的harm，原子弹带来的damage；甚至对历史上一次aerolite撞击地球的研究，可以预测celestial body与地球的撞击，防止地球的毁灭。

正文：
The study of history, the origin of modern world, can benefit us a lot. To the extent that is relevant to daily lives, it is important in that it can help improve the quality of life. However, the value of the study of history is far more than this. The history that seems not so relevant to daily lives or beyond daily lives also has great value.  

Obviously, it is quite useful to study history in improving the quality of life today. The world now comes from what it used to be. With the knowledge of the previous status of a thing, people can know better what it is like now and how to improve it. For example, researching on the evolution track of vehicles can help people understand how they are improved. Every process of its change could be the resource that stimulates the next change. Then more convenient and more economical vehicles are possible to be produced. In addition, things in modern time are not always superior to that in history. And the study of those things that are better than that of modern time is helpful for today’s lives. For instance, exploring the diet structure of a race that had longevity in the history helps the dietitians today give out a better and reasonable diet for people, which can probably improve the health of people.

It’s easy to understand that the research of history collected to daily lives has value. However, the study of history that seems to have slight relevance to daily lives can never be neglected.

For one thing, it can broaden people’s horizon, giving people a more complete and profound understanding of human being, the nature and the universe. From the study of the evolution of human and other life-forms on the earth, people know better how the world come into being and where it is going. By delving and comparing the thoughts of numerous thinkers in history, people will be more clear about those confusions which are hidden in the cockles of their hearts but jump out now and then. Though these things seem to be slightly relevant to our daily lives, people will feel lost in the long river of history if they are thrown away.

For another, the study of history which seems beyond daily lives is significant in that it can prevent the same mistakes in history happening again and even save the whole humankind and the earth. World War Two, which seems far from daily lives of most ordinary people today, reminds us of how harmful could extreme racism be, what devastating effect can nuclear bombs could bring about and how cruel human would be in some circumstances. The specific study of World War Two can make people cherish the peace they have and be alert of recommitment of the same mistake. And the research on a hit of a celestial body to the earth in history also seems beyond daily lives now, but the information obtaining from it could be invaluable when an unidentifiable object is found flying to our planet. Sometimes it can prevent the earth from being destroyed and save the whole human.

To sum up, the value of history rests not only on that it can improve the quality of daily lives, but also on that it can help people look at the world on a higher level, prevent the same mistakes happen again and even protect humankind from the danger of extinction.
