According to the speaker, using images is a more effective means of communicating an idea or value to large group of people than the use of language, for the reason that images are more vivid and accurate. Although I agree that images have some merits that language has not, there is far more to communicate in life that images cannot achieve, but language can. Thus, the speaker overstates the comparative significance of images.

For the purpose of describing events and experiences, I agree that it is usually more convenient to use video record or a series of pictures than written record. When it comes to the most unforgettable and important days, people would prefer to use video cameras to keep the moments enduring. When an old man opens the album in the afternoon’s sunshine, it is as if that he takes the time machine back to the old days. The welcome to the new-coming baby by his parents, the surprising birthday party of his 18 and the romantic wedding reception full of blessings will all replay.

Nevertheless, for certain other purposes language is more appreciate and advantageous than images. For instance, laws and regulations are best left to written documentations. Moreover, images are of little use when it comes to show the subject impressions, complicated ideas or reflection of an event. Indeed, the four forms of language----speaking, listening, reading, writing are actually more effective to add dimension and richness to the communication. The fact that most books, especially philosophy books are written records properly explains so.

Since images and language have each own advantages, it is necessary to choose proper way in different cases. And, sometimes, the most effective way to communicate is combining the use of images and that of language. For example, textbooks illustrated with pictures and diagrams can always be well comprehended by students. and many films contains offscreen voice to develop the stories.

In sum, the speaker’s assertion overstates the importance of images, at least to some extant. It is true that images are more convincing and vivid, however, language is also needed in express individual’s thoughts and feelings. When it comes to complicated matters, the combining of images and language is a way often used.

佩服你够准备到了，我8.11号考，还在争取把题目全过一遍呢，不知道有没有必要，：（
里面的思路和离子值得借鉴，但是有的词比如“it is necessary to choose proper way in different cases”中的different 如果改成“special”是否会好一些，还有最好一个“used”是否是“useful”?
恕我吹毛求疵之嫌，^-^

至于过题目嘛，当然有必要，因为后期的准备工作就是熟悉题目，想例子嘛～～

还有呢，最后一句我想表达的意思是＂遇到复杂的情况，人们通常将图象和语言一起使用＂：）不知道怎么表达好：）
