Is it only valuable that studying history only when it is relevant to our daily lives? Before answering this question, the definition of history has to be defined. If the history are seen as the facts happened in the past, I strongly disagree with the author’ assertion and the study of history has value not only to our daily lives, but also to the social or the whole world.

What we learned from history can help people avoid making the same mistakes happened in history. History serving as a storehouse of information in history and it is possibility that people solve the problems they meet at present with historical stratagem. Taking 36 stratagems as an example. This book about military science written hundreds years ago in china is used as a textbook in West Point. There are still lots of convincing examples to show that the experience in the past can help people at present.

Anything, not only something relevant to daily lives, almost has its origination and developing progress, so that it also has history. Through studying the history of things, we can evaluate the things actually. How can we evaluate the war if the nation is in peace without studying historical materials? And how can we understand the importance of various innovations or reformations if not considering the difference between today and history by studying history? Learning the history of one thing is necessary to understand one thing wholly and all-sided because it does not only support information about the function of this thing, but also works as an important factor to decide the developing way in future, because the past causes the presents, and so the further.

The study of history makes great contribution to learn cultures and solve world works. To understand one culture deeply, the most effective way is to study the history of this nation. For example, Jewry is a nation liking wandering, which characteristic of Jewry is caused by several genocides this nation suffered in history. Through the study of history, different people will understand each other well although they are from different areas in earth or in different religions. And with the deep comprehension of each other, some world problems, such as wars or conflicts will be improved and it may have a better way with no blooding to solve these problems such as middle-east problems. To deeply analysis these problems, we also have to find the origin of these collisions, which are always caused by historical things. without studying the origin , it is impossible to eradicate the wars from the earth.

To sum up, the study of history is playing essential role not only to things relevant to the daily life, but also to whole society. Studying history helps people more easily survive and success in society after solving various kinds of difficulties. And it also makes us learn customs and nations deeper than before studying, which is also important to eliminate the collisions and wars in the world.
