Should all nations help support the development of a global university, in order to solve the world's most persistent social problems, as the speaker claims? I concede that developing such a global university is helpful in many respects by communicating with people from different places. However, the speaker's recommendation is not feasible and overstates the importance of solving the society problems by a global university.
Admittedly, global university provides an opportunity for the communication in culture and science. Firstly, students from different nations bring various traditions and thoughts. It would be helpful in boarding one's mind and accepting different views for student. Secondly, in science area, such communication is necessary-because people gain more ideas through cooperation. However, for three reasons I disagree with the speaker.

In the first place, this proposition would be difficult in practicing. To begin with, it would be complicated in settling courses for students from different countries. Should it meet the developed country's need, or depends on the population of each country? Both of those seem unfair. Furthermore, deciding the main language in teaching would be another problem. It is unjustified to compel all the teachers and students to speak a same language, in order to avoid the chaos in teaching.  

In the second place, there are far more than solving the society problems as the purpose of education. The purpose of education has two respects: for students, is to establish their value system and mature mind; for society, is to supply the useful people in all areas, and keep the harmony of society. In the sense, solving the social problems is a part of purpose in education.

In the third place, it is impossible to work out the most persistence social problems only by a global university. In most conditions, social problems involve many respects-including the politics, economy and the humanity, thus solving those problems depends more on the government, the law and the masses. For instance, the government may provide a tax law to develop the welfare for the poor, the accurate law may prevent or punish crime in order to keep the harmony in sociey.Moreover,providing a common education to the masses would be useful in improve the whole wisdom of people and reducing the social problems .In short, solving the most persistent social problems needs powers from all parts of society.

To sum up, I agree insofar as to the benefits of communicating with different culture and developing science research by a global university, however, the speaker fails to consider the feasible of it. Moreover, to work out the most persistence problems require other efforts besides the global university.

这一段有点意见，一是这段话缺少论证的内容，感觉薄弱了点。楼主只说教育有其他的目的比解决社会问题更重要，但是没有论述为什么重要，重要在哪里。还有一点疑问，题目的意思是问应不应该支持建立全球性大学来解决问题，重点在应不应该，这一段是说教育的主要目的不是解决社会问题，好像和题目联系不是很紧。

我写的时候也是觉得那一段不顺畅，自己改的时候也是匆匆忙忙的贴上来（因为今天贴晚了）。
把这段去掉，集中力量写建了这个大学不一定可以解决SOCIETY PROBLEM会不会好些？

没错啊，论证很繁的，可是没办法这是逻辑写作，要的就是逻辑严密。
不像写中文作文，不行了还可以卖弄文采凑字数
AW写不出来就不能硬凑字数，要是写出来得不到论证，反而对文章有影响。
