The speaker claims that the way which we perceive the world will be altered by the study of an academic discipline, because after the study of the discipline, although the world is same as before, we see it with different eyes. In my point of view, I totally agree with his claim and will substantiate it by the following discussions.

On the one hand, study can enrich our knowledge and correct some wrong ideas accepted by people before. After the long time evolution from anthropoid, human came into being eventually. From then on, people began to explore the world gradually, but because of the limitation of knowledge, it is common that we make some mistakes. For example, when people find some phenomena that cannot be explained, they will turn to some nonmainstream knowledge, such as god, ghost and the like; actually, it is absolute wrong explanation. Take the center of the universe as another example. At first, people all thought earth is the center of the world, but after many studies, Copernicus advanced the theory that the earth and other planets revolve around the sun, and disrupted the former theory thoroughly. Of course, now we know that the sun is also not the center of the universe and it needs further study.  

On the other hand, study can expend our angles of view, then we can deal with matters much more roundly. An object may have many facets, and when we refer to it, it is true that we cannot cover all the facets, but if we have profound knowledge, we can cover most of the facets. Take a famous fable as an example. Let a group of blinds touched an elephant, some said the elephant likes a rope, some said it likes a fan, some said it likes a pillar, and nobody described the elephant right. It is caused of lacking all-around views. It is same reason for other objects, such as a building. If we have architecture knowledge, we would examine if its structure is reasonable and solid; if we have esthetics lore, we would comment if it is esthetical; if we have medicine information, we would consider if its circumstance around is healthy.

Last but not least, study makes us realize the shortage of ourselves and make us more humility, thus we can be more objective. There is a saying, "Knowledge is infinite." During the study, we realize that we still have many shortages and will be more modest. As a result, we can refer to a matter more objective and no more think what we say is totally right while what other say is absolute wrong.  

To sum up, I hope it has been shown that study can influence our view to the world dramatically because it can enrich our knowledge and angles of view.

In my point of view, I totally agree with his claim and will substantiate it by the following discussions.
