Anny
Issue 5 A nation should require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college rather than allow schools in different parts of the nation to determine which academic courses to offer.
提纲: 1. 摆明态度, 有好处有坏处;
The author asserts that it is better for all students up until college to study the same national curriculums than to study academic courses determined by different regions, According to my understanding, students around[around好像不是很恰当] the nation taught the same courses is so extremely[extreme,这里应该是adj., extremely是adv.] that educators should synthesize the two forms of curriculums.
[TS写的不是很好,按照TS的逻辑结构,]students around the nation taught the same courses is so extremely[所对应的应该是论述统一课程的极端性,而后]educators should synthesize the two forms of curriculums.[说的是应该将两种课程综合起来,这样一来,和提纲就不甚符合了.] Though national curriculum is beneficial to students in many aspects, it indeed has some limitations can be covered by local curriculum.
First, under certain circumstances it is very useful to offer students with the sane [same]national curriculums[复数形式curricula]. To students, as they are given the same courses, [As students are given the same course,] it is equal for everyone and they can communicate with each other[each other改成others] without any problems. To[For] parents, they will not be worried about[去掉about] that their children do not learn as much knowledge as others. To[For] schools before colleges, it is not necessary for them to employ advisors and psychologists to make special plans for their own students, and students who enter colleges for further study have the same basic knowledge, it is easy for teachers to teach . What’s more, it is convenience for the government to transfer core values upon which any democratic society depended to thrive., religion and so forth, the society will be more harmonious.
However, it also has side effects to make all the courses all[这个all去掉] the same. Perhaps there exist a number of minorities, they have their own languages and customs handed down from generations to generations[好像是from generation to generation,]. The government’s “all the same” action will to some extent inhibit the development of the minority specialties. On the other hand, government will keep something, which is mot[most or what?] merely useless but harmful back from the society.[这一句的意思看不明白] People will not know what really happens to the society. What’s more, educators will partly lose the enthusiasms to teaching, because they are not allowed to practice their ways to teach, so some experienced teachers will turn to other jobs.[这个思路不错,但是结论] so some experienced teachers will turn to other jobs.[和]educators will partly lose the enthusiasms to teaching[这个观点不符,而且过于绝对了。
To sum up, government should formulate[formulate用的很好] core curriculums for every student in order that all students will have the same foundational knowledge, moreover, different parts of the nation are allowed to determine which academic courses to offer according to their own situations. In short, we should develop various education forms based on the same basic knowledge. And it is a balanced one that imposes a basic curriculum yet leaves the rest up to each state- or better yet, to each community. |
