1 家长对孩子的教育起很重要作用(法律上负责,更了解孩子的需求适合,其言行影响孩子)
2 社会给孩子提供更多实践机会,为孩子走向社会打下基础
3 专业教育者在传授专业知识方面不可替代
I agree with the speaker who advocates in the statement that of great importance, education cannot be left to only professional educators and should involve both parents and communities. There is no doubt that teachers and professors are experts at a certain or several fields, but what students need is far more than special and detailed professional knowledge. We need parents and communities to care about their growth in order for a good future of both themselves and society.
In the first place, parents play an indispensable role in education of children. As the legal tutors of teenagers, they are the only persons who can make key decisions on where and how their children receive education and what they mainly study. Taking care of the children from their birth, the parents also know well their personality, unique needs, interests and ideas. As a result, it is necessary and easier for those adults to help children to address problems in education and provide them with advice on which field of subject is best suited for them. Moreover, what is called education not only involves professional knowledge, but also refers to teaching of proper behaviors of daily life, moral and ethic rules and so on, the teaching of which require long time’s accumulation in mind resulting in habits and can hardly be operated in the local schools. Therefore, parents who are responsible for their children legally are fit and obliged to give them such kind of education.
In addition, we can never neglect the important roles communities play in education of children. For one thing, as is known to us all that education’s final goal is to make sound persons who adapt to society and are capable of social work and responsibility. Social communities can provide children with chances to practice the skills and ideas they have just learned, through which they will have a deeper understanding of both knowledge and society and learn how to communicate and get along with their workmates. Such practice experience has a good preparation for children’s future work and life when they graduate. For another, many communities lead the mainstream culture of society, which have a significant influence on children’s view of value, morality and ethics. So to ensure that such influence do no harm to the teenagers is important in proving a qualified education.
Admittedly, professional educators are indispensable in educating children with detailed and special knowledge. As experts in certain fields and with a great deal of experience, they have received special training and have a profound understanding of the phenomena and potential rules, which enable them to explain the theories correctly and clearly to students. Also, in reference to research and experiment they can share their experience and skills and cultivate their students’ intuition to certain unknown rules or phenomena which is the origination of new discovery and invent. What’s more, through careful watching with their wise eyes, the educators can find the work which mostly fits a certain child so as to prevent a waste of talent. Without education of specialized subjects, students will never learn the well developed science and technology.
To sum up, education should involve not only professional educators but also parents and communities. It is true that professional educators cannot be replaced in providing major education, but parents and communities also contribute to the cultivation of skilled and sound persons in many other aspects. |
