Why English Corner?

One of my friends told me he didn't think English Corner can help you with oral English.His arguments was we always did daily talk on English Corner not a speech like a Speaker.Do you agree with ?Why or why not?

A native speaker do not  make harangue all the time, but casual talk which seems indispensable to the English-oriented environment.

I am a fresh hand, and I attend English corner every week.

In my view, English corner is helpful in improving our oral presentation abilities, such as pronunciations and frequently used vords; however it cannot substitue thinking, including organization of the whole speech.

usually we begin a convesation with some basic information about each other in the english corner, such as “how do you do”. but once, i learned we should talk about, probably i shall say debate, something that we really cares, maybe something happened that you think is not right. so that we can remember it.

Last time, i debate on "nothing is impossible" with another graduated-looking person. he thinks people will never be able to quit druging, which i strongly don't agree. later, another person joined us and turned my side. which i think is the most happy moment in the enlgish corner.

most people think english corner is not helpful because they didn't enjoy and use it. that's what i want to say.
