The speaker asserts that the teaching method praising good and ignoring bad is better than others. In my opinion, I tend to agree that praising is more effective than criticizing someone( someone 最好不用,读起来很怪,也很不地道…另外,我觉得这句话这样写更好--I tend to agree that praise is more effective than criticism)in encouraging people to learn.
In the first place ,for some people who have genius,(genius是天才的意思,改为talents) more praising is contributive to becoming real talents. According to a (an) investigation on those Genius (geniuses), their psychological quality (qualities) are fragile. (感觉不是这样的啊,很多天才人物,都有百折不挠的毅力和屡挫不败的信心哦,心理素质都很不错的,表示怀疑…)Although they have a genius for Art、science and so on, accepting(个人觉得receiving好一些) teacher's criticism when they make mistakes on learning , they may easily feel defeated so that they have not enough confidence for completing work. Perhaps they will not become scientists or artists, even if they once have genius. On the contrary, if they become self-confident by praising, it is likely that they will do something perfectly. Such as Einstein and Newton, they all have undeniable abilities. They were deemed woodenhead as their childhood. They were always criticized by teachers because of their representation. Without their relatives' encouragement and praise, they will merely become common instead of famous and successful.(这个例子没听说过,感觉不太真实…)
In the second place, the deepest craving of human nature is a demand of feeling recognized. By appreciated, people's advantages and possible gifts could be found. To show one's strong points and hide one's weaknesses is the best way to success in our present society. (present 感觉有点怪)For instance, the appreciating education for children now prevails over the whole world. The parents look for virtue of children and enjoy it. Though finding their fault, parents should advise children circumlocutory to avoid injuring them. In this case, children can learn anything by themselves and grow up healthily and happily. So they may be likely to success. Not only using in family, the appreciating of education is also applied to others. The employer should praise his employees rather than criticize them. Just as Cindy Ventricle writes on his book about Acknowledging management, the great employee is produced by appreciating instead of managing. In a book named MANAGING WITH CARROTS, the author elaborates the importance of appreciating. Whether the ability is recognized by boss is vital for employee. To retain great employee and attract person of talent outside of enterprise, employer should take management of appreciation effect.
However, there is no denying that over appreciation ignoring negative actions may bring counterproductive. Firstly, only appraising during a long time may make people conceited. When he does some work, he is under the illusion that whatever he does is right. So that he can't accept any suggestion except his own. Secondly, though the fault produced every time is small, mass of faults will ultimately cause disasters unable to redeem. A aphorism said, "A small leak will sink a great ship."
In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that praising is more important . Without praising, we may have not enough faith to confront difficulty during learning. Our study can't finish successfully, since we are not active without it.
