Will education be truly effective only when it is designed to meet needs and interests of every student? I doubted so. Though the aim of education is to help each student to achieve one's dream, ignorance of the needs of the whole society may bring education to a swamp.
   
As far as students are concerned, it is natural that they can do their best to learn as much knowledge as possible if the education is aimed to meet needs and interests of every student.  One of the greatest scientists in the world, Thomas Edison was once regarded helpless just because teachers could not answer his "whimsy" question. It is apparently that he was underestimated in his school. Why? The reasonable explanation should be that school where he stayed could not meet the need of Edison and he could not display his best talent in his school. Thanks to the mother of Edison, the decision of early leave from school and family teaching helped Edison, in some extent, stimulate his potential and accomplish his marvelous career.  From the experience of Edison, we can easily understand how important the education which was aimed the need and interest of each student.
   
However, the designation that focuses only on the interests and needs of every student may bring some students into trouble after they step into the society. Without the consideration of the requirement of society, some certain students may meet troubles to achieve their goal just because they cannot find little balance between the knowledge learned and the requirement of society

Generally speaking, students have diverse interests, as two leaves cannot be exactly alike. Consequently, nobody can promise those different interests all meet the needs of the whole society. It is entirely possible that some interests of a few students cannot promise the bright career in the society. For instance, it is common that some students have strong interests in computer games, but society has little requirement to such "occupation”. If education is regarded effective when the students are trained or taught only the game, how can these students survive in the society successfully? The outcome is much possible to be a failure.

In addition, the designation is too difficult to be in use because the misunderstanding of needs or interests of eduction with regard to some students. Lacking of enough information and understanding of career, students may consider individual hobbies to be their needs and interests.But such" interests and needs "of students are almost unlimited whereas the courses specifically designed are restrained. Seldom will every school can fulfill such" interests" like teaching swimming, skiing,computer games and collecting stamps. In addition, because some interests are nothing but hobbies, courses may be useless to help students achieving career in the society. Simply put, regardless of the needs of society, it is impractical and extravagant that the school plan to begin the education to meet the needs of every student. As a result, the education which calls the balance of the individual needs or interests and the requirement of society is the optimal option for most of school.

In conclusion, education can run smoothly by two "legs": one is the needs and interests of every student; the other is the requirement of the whole society. Lacking either of two "legs”, education cannot easily promise a bright outlook for both students and schools.
