What people wear 20 years ago is quite different from what people wear now, and the attitudes and interests also changed during the last twenty years. Is there a relationship between the way people look, dress , act and their attitudes and interests? Generally speaking, the attitudes and interests of people have influence on the way people look, dress, and act, whereas,it is hard for average people to judge people's attitudes and interests exactly just from the exterior of people, let only the ideas and values of the whole society.

Appearance, action of people are the reflection of the inner world of people's heart concluding the attitudes and interests.  Any action of people is controlled by mind; something changed in mind could have reflection on people's action. For instance, if a person is not in good mood, he or she might not smile to people. People who win an important might be rubicund () in face, and more active () in action. Basketball players who win an important match cannot help exclaiming with exitment. Some times people with  perspective might knows the attitudes and interests from people’ appearance and act.

Most of the times,we cannot easily judge people's attitudes and interest easily just from the way people look, dress, and act because modern people do not dress and act just according to () their own opinion. People could not always act or dress what they want. For example, workers are asked to dress  uniforms when working,so we could not know what are their attitudes towards jobs from their uniforms because they are all the same and not chosen by worker themselves; neither could we judge form the act of workers, because they are required to do things relevant to work. Unconventional act might be punished, for example, workers could not jump for happy when producing. In addition, people are influenced by the trend of fashion. People might bought something in popular, while drop those they really love but out of fashion. Nowadays people wearing clothes out of fashion often fear that they might be sneered () by other people. In these condition, we cannot conclude that the way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests.

It is hard to know the substance of a thing from the superficial aspect it presents. Just as we cannot not easily see the stone at the bottom () from the surface of a lake, we cannot tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people. The ideas and values got from the observation of the appearance and behavior of its people might be distorted () and not reflect the truce.

We could also know them from how parents their children, how schools  educate students, what problem university are researching on, which reflect the common idea of a society on what they are interested in, how they want the new generation to be. Through the direct aspect relevant to the ideas and values, we could easily tell much about a society's ideas and values.

In sum, average people could not easily judge the values and interests of a society form the surface--the appearance and behavior of its people, only reach the heat of society can we know the values and ideas exactly.
