请教各位关于F-1学生是否可以申请S S N?

各位飞友:

请问哪位知道怎么申请Social Security Number? 因为要考驾驶执照,看到帖子里面说要SSN才可以报名. 请问大家都有SSN么? 没有的话怎么申请呢?

如果是有奖学金的F1，必须要申请SSN。如果是没有奖学金的F1，有些州可能开始不让申请SSN，咨询你所在学校的国际学生office的人。

Please note that it has become increasingly difficult for F-1 and J-1 students
to obtain social security numbers (SSN), which are often required for offcampus
housing contracts. The Social Security Administration passed federal
regulations which require F-1 students to have an on-campus job offer before
they will be permitted to apply for the SSN.
