TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
outline：1，教育的目的是开发学生的潜能，让学生更好的服务社会。
         2，只有迎合了学生兴趣和需要得教育才能把学生的潜能极致化。E.g.…

Education is one of the key words of our modern times. A man without an education, many of us believe, is an unfortunate victim of adverse circumstance, deprived of one of the greatest 21st century opportunities, Convinced of the importance of education, people begin to put the effectiveness of education on the agenda of priority. The author in the title statement asserts that education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the author on the grounds that follow below.

The first reason why I support the statement is that education will be regard as effective only when the educated students can contribute to society. And whether a student can contribute to society is depends on the achievement he or she attain. It no doubt all students make achievements more easily in his or her favorite field than uninterested field. Because we can enjoy ourselves in what we like to do and concentrate on it but not passive accept. It is more possible to us to make further research and have some new discoveries in our favorite field. If we are forced to accept something that we aren’t interested in at all, we must learn it with some unwillingness. It will hinder us to make any progress. As we all know, Copernicus want to become a doctor before he is known as an astronomer. And when he found that his real interest was research on astronomy, he chose it without hesitation. Imaging that he continued to study medicine that he didn’t like very much in the medical college, perhaps some progresses in astronomy don’t be made. Also, the interest to the east civilization urged Columbus to find the new land. These contributions should be credited to their needs and interests of respective field.

The further reason is that it is more possible to students to find inspiration in the education that meet his or her needs and interests. In other words, the potential of students are developed and maximized more easily in this kind of education. A student will be inclined to do more and think more in his or her beloved curriculum than the ones he or she dislike. So the school should try their best to give students chances to choose their favorite curriculum in order to make students make a good use of their potential ability.

However, it should be admitted that disadvantages will appear when we emphasis the free of pursuit of ideal curriculums unreasonably. Meanwhile, some moral lessons should be compulsory to students no matter them like it or not.

Taking into account these factors, we may finally draw the conclusion that, it would be the best to schools and colleges to design curriculums to meet the individual needs and interests of each student reasonably and then student will contribute to society in return.
