As the arguer claims that tradition and modernization cannot be compatible, and then people have to choose between them, I disagree with it. The reason is that in some case there are drawbacks in tradition, then people have to make choices, but many daily customs and splendid spirits traced from ancient periods. Additionally, tradition and modernization could make further development with helps from each other.

Firstly, sometimes flaws of traditional customs are obviously. Because of lacking of knowledge and technology, ancient people have limitation in their observations and solutions of problems. For example, in we ancient China, a time without advanced medical care, when sick, people did not ask help from doctors or have effective medicines, they just made preys everyday, and organize ceremonies to ask release from theism. Though thousand years passed by, now in some regions, people still follow ancients' way but developed medical treatments. Patients, who cannot be helped in time, might suffer worse results. Apparently, traditions like this have to be avoided, since they are far from nowadays civilization and advancement. In this condition, people have to choose make choices between tradition and modernization.

However, numbers of customs in our daily life now have been lasting for long time, and many significant spirits in philosophy, religion and science also last hundred years as well, for cultures are continue from generation to generation. For instance, in one hand, Chinese people have traditional festival-Spring Festival and Mid-autumn Day. Both of them traced thousand years ago, and the way of celebrating might change, but their existence never disappear. In the other hand, about philosophy and religion, many conceptions and spirits, such as Socrates’s and Plato’s philosophical opinions, influence almost all the descendents after them. Christin, Buddhism and Islam all have long history and now are still being pursuing. That is to say, though modernization developed a lot, basic factors, which reflect human beings spiritual desire and confusions, might not change much, resulting from the similarities of human beings. In a word, tradition should have its position in now modernize society doubtlessly.

What is more, as culture and science have developed without serious hampering, modernization always influence tradition gradually and tradition also effect on the other. For example, modernization helps our Chinese medicine to solve the inconvenience of production of herb medicine. Before mechanical method of making herb medicines, people, who want to have them, have to produce medicine from raw herbs all by themselves, but now, machines change herbs into pills auto-mechanically, and patients receive much more conveniently than before. Classic conceptions also help persons. As we all known, Newton is famous of his Classic Newton Theory, which is a required course of any students who receive physics education. And such classic theory makes huge contributions to countless physicians’ modern researches and inventions. It is obviously that some traditional conception can also help us now. Thus when cooperation occurs, tradition and modernization will promote each other efficiently.

To sum up, though, in some cases, we should avoid irrational tradition, many advantages of tradition cannot be ignored. And we should not recognize tradition and modernization as conceptions against each other. When composing effectively, they can be compatible.
