关于CSULA 学校环境的讨论

我在美国的一个教授朋友(UC Sacramento)告诉我不要申请CSULA，但没有告诉我原因，他是这么说的：

Hi gabby,

Here's a follow up to my previous note.  Of the schools you mentioned, without a doubt, the best is Stanford.  It is considered one of the top schools in America.  UC Davis has good qualities as well.  I would probably not encourage you to attend CSULA for several reasons. I like Stanford for its reputation as well as its locale.  It is located 40 miles south of San Francisco in a very lovely and safe environment.  It is clsoe to the ocean and mountains as well.  You might consider San Francisco State University.  It also has good theater department and is located in the heart of San Francisco.

当我问他是不是CSALA的名声不好，诸如枪战、吸毒、性滥交之类的，他就回避了。我现在很想知道这个学校到底是什么样子的。因为CSULA的系主任是这么跟我说的：

我去LA就是因为她有Hollywood，但是学校环境不好的话会很麻烦，万一被流弹击中是很不幸的事情。大家如有知道CSULA近况的麻烦告诉我啊，小妹跪谢！
