47.Scientists studying historical weather patterns have discovered that in
the mid-sixth century, Earth suddenly became significantly cooler.
Although few historical records survive from that time, some accounts
found both in Asia and Europe mention a dimming of the sun and extremely
cold temperatures. Either a huge volcanic eruption or a large meteorite
colliding with Earth could have created a large dust cloud throughout
Earth's atmosphere that would have been capable of blocking enough
sunlight to lower global temperatures significantly. A large meteorite
collision, however, would probably create a sudden bright flash of light,
and no extant historical records of the time mention such a flash. Some
surviving Asian historical records of the time, however, mention a loud
boom that would be consistent with a volcanic eruption. Therefore, the
cooling was probably caused by a volcanic eruption.

as a favorite form of recreation. Since there have been complaints about
the quality of the water in the river, residents must be avoiding the
river because they think that it is not clean enough. But that situation
is about to change: the agency responsible for rivers in our region has
announced plans to clean up Mason River. Therefore, recreational use of
the river is likely to increase, so the Mason City council will need to
increase its budget for improvements to the publicly owned lands along the
Mason River."

respondents to last year's town survey agreed that they were 'satisfied'

the survey, players prefer games that provide lifelike graphics, which
require the most up-to-date computers. Whirlwind has just introduced
several such games with an extensive advertising campaign directed at
people 10 to 25 years old, the age-group most likely to play video games.
It follows, then, that the sales of Whirlwind video games are likely to
increase dramatically in the next few months."

"Doctors have long suspected that secondary infections may keep some patients from healing quickly after severe muscle strain. This hypothesis has now been proved by preliminary results of a study of two groups of patients. The first group of patients, all being treated for muscle injuries by Dr. Newland, a doctor who specializes in sports medicine, took antibiotics regularly throughout their treatment. Their recuperation time was, on average, 40 percent quicker than typically expected. Patients in the second group, all being treated by Dr. Alton, a general physician, were given sugar pills, although the patients believed they were taking antibiotics. Their average recuperation time was not significantly reduced. Therefore, all patients who are diagnosed with muscle strain would be well advised to take antibiotics as part of their treatment."

修改注意事项
1）不要敷衍了事。如果的确时间紧张可以等稍微空闲的时候认真细读再修改。
2）修改时，点回复，将文章复制（ctrl+C）再粘贴（ctrl＋V），将队友的提纲和全文都复制过去，进行修改。
3）修改时请注意使用不同颜色的记号，在格式栏可以选择，便于看出哪些是修改的。
4）修改内容包括：语法错误：包括用词错误，句式错误（这两项如果觉得没有把握要标示出来，但是不能因为没有把握就不指出别人的错误），例证错误，逻辑错误等等。

作业汇报

由于我上网的速度实在慢……加上一个个记很容易排版混乱，所以还是粗略说下好了
第一次的作业大家都交了，只是有的迟些，特别是提纲部分，相信大家对于自己写提纲的速度也有个概念了，一定要安排好时间，现在制订的方案是每天5A5I的量，注意要分散开来写，免得一下子写太多思维迟钝！提纲部分因为量很大相互批改也不可能，所以制定这个任务完全是为了让大家能充分熟悉题库，所以关键还是得看自己，每个人注意下自己所批改的那个人的提纲贴，适当提醒下好了。最后说下，大家的提纲尽量直接贴到提纲大贴中，不要单独发贴，因为那么多单独发了也不会有人看，还要到大贴里汇报下，有些浪费资源，也不方便核对。

总的来看第一次的作业情况还是挺好的，晚上就要交第二次的，大家别忘了批改别人的文章。
