TOPIC: ISSUE154 - "Both parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. Education is too important to leave solely to a group of professional educators."

Abstract:

基本上同意这种说法。
1教育的内容和目的决定：教育除了教授知识,还要培养学生行为方式\思想等,这些不是靠老实讲述的,周边的行动大于语言.
2孩子在家时间长,家长对孩子的影响巨大,有着参与教育的义务.阿甘母亲对阿甘的影响的例子
3社会环境对孩子的影响也是潜移默化的,参与教育容易使孩子更快更好的融入社会。例子，孟母三迁
当然，三者中毕竟教师最重要的，专业、精力、时间都有保证。

    When asked about whether both parents and communities must be involved in local schools, different people may give different views .As far as I am concerned , education  should be emphasis by the whole society, and no matter parents or the communities should take part in the education.

    I stand on the basis of following reasons:

    In the first place, the assertion is decided by the intentions and the contents of the education. Education is not only a tool of giving knowledge and skill to the students in order to transport the quantified persons for the society, but also a useful weapon to shape ones thinking, mind ,emotion and behavior manner .In my point of view ,the later is more important for the society. But this part can’t teach in the classroom , it transmits in the ordinary life and behavior. So no matter family or the society, they all have the responsibility to restrict their own behaviors .And no matter parents or the communities ,they all have the responsibility to take part in education and give good examples to the students.

    Secondly , each family has the huge affection in shaping children's mind and behavior. In children 's growing time ,they spend more time in staying with parents and family members .And they are also influenced deeply by parents. The attitude, parents facing to their children, may affect children's emotion, and even it would transmit to the next generation. And the behavior , parents doing in front of their children , may affect the way of children's actions. Except these parts, the parents will also give the brave and attitude that children make face of society. I was deeply impressed by the movie ,Forrest Gump. In the film, the sentence that " Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what your goin get " describes the huge influence that parents give their children. Just a simple word inflect the attitude that parents give to their children. And it influence Forrest Gump the whole life. That is a good example of functions that parents give education to their children.

    Finally ,the social groups such as the communities also have responsibilities to teach students. On the one hand, no matter how long the students stay in the school ,they will step into society and become social-men. So the society and communities should take part in the education to help the youngsters familiar to the actual life and work, and they can adapt themselves to the society faster and better. On the other hand, society also set up a model, no matter whether it wants or not. What society wants will affect the young men's notions and behavior. In the ancient China, there is a meaningful story about this. In  Mencius (a famous thinker of the Spring and Autumn Period in Chinese history)’s childhood , his mother moved the whole family for three times. Under the actions , her motive was very simple ,with giving a good study environment for her child. And this story becomes a famous case that parents choose the good environment for their children. And it indicate the importance of social environment for the teaching.

    Admittedly ,I concede that teachers in school are one of the most important force to bring up students. After all, they are the experts in teaching, and they have enough time and energy to give skillful education to children. But we can not overlook the huge functions that parents and communities can make. A perfect association will get the wonderful results.  

提纲作业:

94"Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."

大学应该要求学生学习本专业以外的课程，因为让学生们了解不同学科的知识才是教育的最佳方式。

同意:

1 教育的目的不仅仅是知识,更是要塑造一个全面的人.多学科的全面培养,才能提高综合素质.

2 社会不仅仅需要专才,也需要通才.

3 不同学科之间往往有一定的相关性,可以互相启发,有助于单一学科的进步.

98"Colleges and universities should offer more courses on popular music, film, advertising, and television because contemporary culture has much greater relevance for students than do arts and literature of the past."

大学和学院应该在流行音乐、电影、广告和电视上开设更多的课程，因为现代文化比过去文艺和学生更密切。

反对.

1 课程的设置原则不应完全按照与学生的关系密切程度来制定.(大的方面)

2 流行的东西,好坏夹杂.没有必要对其做细致的研究.只有经历历史沉淀,具有真正价值的才值得研究.(具体的)

3 对当代流行的研究,受到时代认识的制约,不容易产生有价值的研究评判. (具体的)
