Issue5 CSMY作文互改小组】第三次作业
A nation should require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college rather than allow schools in different parts of the nation to determine which academic courses to offer."


观点:平衡观点,但偏向反对
提纲:
1.      全国统一课程在许多方面对国家是有益的。
2.      然而,全国统一课程也产生一些问题。
3.      地方可以适当地制定适合自己本土特色的课程,充分利用本土资源。

The speaker prefers that all students should learn the same national curriculum until college to that they should learn different courses determined by schools located in various parts of the nation. Insofar as some basic curriculum would serve useful purposes for nation, I agree with the speaker’s opinion. At the same time, nonetheless, to some extent, each state should have right to establish some curriculums which adapt to the condition of his own state. Or the education’s purpose could not be come true in the long time that education must enable a man to become more efficient, to achieve with increasing facility the legitimate goals of his life.

For a nation, a national general curriculum would be useful in a number of respects. First of all, a basic curriculum would provide all children with fundamental skills and knowledge. For example, all students are required to study language or math. Language can culture their communication skills. If there is not uniform and standard language, and each state has his own idiom, it will hamper each other’s communication. We come into contact with math all the time in our daily life such as paying tips to waitperson. Without math knowledge, we cannot live in the world. Additionally, without national core curriculum, which student will be given scholarship cannot be determined. Thus, it is necessarily for the whole country to commonly establish the basic curriculum.

However, a common curriculum would also pose certain problems, which may overweigh its advantages. The curriculum in general for all students is the same, then students will not know what their interests are. If Einstein, german-born American theoretical physicist, hasn’t shown interest in physics, there is no light until now. Perhaps commonly basic curriculums will obliterate students’ interest.

Each state should have the right to establish special courses according to his resource. For example, Wall Street located in the northeast of the United States is the controlling financial interests of the United States. Therefore, the schools in the northeast of the United States should take advantage of this advantage and establish business or economics curriculum.

In sum, homogeneous and elementary education would be useful for the future population with illiterates and ignoramuses. At the same time, however, it overlooks the cultural diversity and tradition. In my view, on the basis of the generally national curriculum, it is necessarily to leave the enough rest to each state and allow each state to offer own curriculum.

整体结构问题不大,但是每段展开的不够,拭着从多个角度说说看。
