With rapid progress of science and technology, almost all the disciplines have certain relationship with each other. No field of study can keep pure without involvement of other fields because knowledge and experience brought by outsides can produce profound impact on the development of the current engaging filed. In this respect, I fundamentally agree with the speaker that unless introducing outside knowledge and experience no filed of study can advance significantly.
   
To begin with, using advanced technology or drawing lessons from other fields would be beneficial to the current field under research because unified discipline is not enough to provide abundant knowledge and experience to maintain the development of one field. On the one hand, every field has its own disadvantages which hamper the progress of this field if no insights are introduced. On the other hand, the researchers also need outside disciplines to broaden their horizon and breathe the fresh air, which would enable them abandon cliché views towards their disciplines. For example, the digging of ancient tomb needs not only archaeologists’ profound knowledge about the background of the tomb, but also historians’ researches about its historical significance, and even geologists’ professional expertise about its location and structure. Without support of these disciplines, archaeologist, regardless of how deep their knowledge about the tomb is, would be unable to recognize and unearth the tomb well. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce more advanced technology and learn other disciplines’ advantage for a disciplines’ progress.

Secondly, outside knowledge provides new thoughts and methods about how to solve the existing problems and how to find the way out. The absorption of new thoughts or ideas would infuse the field under research with impetus and motivate which play an important role on one discipline’s development. For example, game theory was first brought out by Nash in the 18th century, is widely applied in today’s economics. It mainly studies the cooperative relationship between a group of people or the interaction between individual companies and how to make decisions. Such a theory not only benefits economists much but also contributes greatly to individual companies in their research or deal decisions. Since the game theory was being introduced, the research of economics progresses a big step. New policy formulated with economic rules involving game theory provide new methods and ideas to alleviate the pressure caused by difficult problems like depression and contraction, and even at last help solve them and bring new era for the development of economy. From this respect, modern business and other business activities need outsider to bring their knowledge and experience to solve the existing problems, this is to say, the development of one field needs other fields’ involvement to help them out if their progress is handicapped.        

Finally, based on the knowledge and experience accumulation of other fields, it is easy for new disciplines to stand at a higher point. Since outside disciplines provide an utmost fundamental basis for the build of these disciplines, they don’t have to study their subjects from scratch. What is more, the intelligence interaction always brings great opportunities to those who devote their time and energy into. From the thoughts or insights they obtain from other fields, they can develop this discipline in more deep level which would tend to make bigger contribution to the progress of modern society. For example, the integration of biology and chemistry makes biochemistry, which has brought more medicine that would produce favorable impact on curing people’s illness and maintaining their health. It has been wildly aware that interdisciplinary field becomes more and more important to the progress of modern society.

In conclusion, due to their own disadvantages, every field of study needs not only absorb other disciplines’ advantages but also their insights and methods to solve the encountered problems. Only in this way, different disciplines can develop and advance healthily and significantly, that the interdisciplinary fields can do much more great contribution to the human society.
