Nowadays, more and more environmentalists attribute the increasing extinction of species to the rapid progress of industrialization. They rebuke modern industries for its arbitrary emission of polluted air and water which would pose detrimental jeopardy on the survival of wild animals and vegetarians. However, others maintain the environmentalists must be mistaken, because they can cite a great deal of historical evidence to indicate that the extinction of species is a kind of natural process. They insist that there is no justification for society as environmentalists claim to make extraordinary efforts to save endangered species. On balance, although the reason of others seems more appealing and reasonable, I agree with the notion that we should preserve useful and significant species.

Admittedly, there are more reasons we can create to oppose the issue that we human should take duties to preserve the endangered species, the most important of which is Darwin’s evolution theory that extinction results from the inexorable process of so-called “natural selection” in which stronger species survive while weaker ones do not. Based on this theory, people in increasing numbers believe that natural processes are the primary reason for the extinction of species rather than industrialization, though industrialization actually produces negative impacts on the environment. Another compelling reason I maintains is that people are more pragmatic that they appeal more to logic than emotion. Protecting and saving endangered yet meaningless species means that it is necessary for them to make more efforts to improve the environment which in the end would reversely hampering the progress of modernization and improving the average standards of people’s living condition. Moreover, spending a great sum of money saving some species would be unworthy because they contribute little to human’s survival, the growth of economy, and even the society as a whole. In this respect, whether we should devote all our energy and time to preventing the extinction of endangered species depends on their pragmatic and economic significance.

However, endangered species have close relationship with us. In order to pursuit self-benefit we cannot ignore the importance and the necessity of preventing the extinction of endangered species. There are three fundamental reasons for imposing on ourselves at least some responsibilities to preserve the endangered animals.

Firstly, the ignorance of preserving the endangered species would increase our culpability. It is widely acknowledged that the extinction of species is the unavoidable result of anthropogenic activities. Due to growing reduction of habitat caused by deforestation and air and water pollution, rare animals and plants are beginning to die out for shortage of food or the disturbance of their peaceful living environments. An increasing number of people realize that the irreversible situation caused by their selfishness results in so many species’ extinction. Therefore, they feel much culpable that they should make effects to preserve endangered species.

Secondly, human beings have the capability to prevent the extinction of endangered species. In recent decades, the day-by-day worse environment attributes greatly to the process of industrialization which was initiated even in eighteen century. People in the modern society are being considered as the chief criminals who bring about the chaos to the once peaceful environment. Nature can repair a little itself, but the lasting influence of anthropogenic activities imposing on environment has done detrimental impact on the extinction of endangered species. Only human who once caused such problems has the ability to improve the situation, so if we human don’t want to taste the bitter fruit we planted we should take the responsibility to preserve the endangered species.

Finally, since everything in nature has intricate relationship with human beings and the extinction of most species would consequently endanger the human being itself, we should make great efforts to preserve the endangered species that would contribute dramatically to our survival. As the ecological balance shows that one kind of species’ extinction would inevitably result in lake of food or lost of habitat areas of another species. With no food and increasing shrinking habitat, there would be no favorable condition for this kind of species to reproduce offspring. Accordingly this would bring and accelerate the chain effect of species extinction. If there are no species, can we human still survive? So the pressing need for human to preserve the endangered species is understandable yet necessary.

To sum up, although some persistently insist the opinion that there is no justification for society to make extraordinary efforts to save endangered species, we should contribute greatly to preserve these species because only we have the duty and the capability to preserve the endangered species. If we ignore the extinction of the endangered species, the consequences which are brought about mainly by us would be so huge that it would endanger human beings eventually.

[其实很多地方你说的很对，我这篇文章完全是按照北美范文来写的，不同的就是观点和它相反，它是不赞成保护，我是赞成保护，至于例证，我研究了一下北美范文，也没什么例证，不知道这种方法是不是一定得举出一个具体的例子来才行，还是我们这样证明就可以了，感觉现在思路有，实际的例子去没有了，呵呵]
