1 the level of housint cost in C is not clear.
2 promise is only promise, they are not reality. and the noise environment would be unsuitable for old people when they are in
construction.
3 the competence of the physicians are more important than the number.

A174
1 No evidence indicates that the morale in the college is low, and that there is no necessary causality between all-female
education and morale improvement
2 the survey is suspicious, as we don't know how many people have participated in that survey. And girls are often too shy to
express their true will.
3 which is more overwhelming, the loss of alumni's financial support or the income obtained by enrolling more students?

A220
1 no figures are given to demonstrate that the profitability of publishing and bookselling industries have a tendency to decline.
2 it's not reasonable to take the reference in people's as a proof, because many topics we talk about are often the content of
certain television programs and not easily to be written in a fiction.
3 Even we conclude from the study that not many people read fictions today, we cannot obviously claim that publishing and
bookselling industries are decline. Fiction can not be their representatitive.

A167
1 the arugment doesn't tell us How did those volunteers feel when they waked up in the third week, so the function of the
lavender flower is suspicious.
2 they slept longer and more soundly can just be the result of the tiredness caused by a whole week's unsound sleep
3 30 volunteers and three weeks are not adequate for us to draw a conclusion.

A141
1 even if C abandon its mining plans, there would be other companies that need copper as its raw material and will mine the
copper in WF.
2 no evidence have been given that C takes no measures to prevent the disaster and the environment has been contaminated
by C.
3 the method the arguer proposed is not feasible because it is impossible for the consumer to discern what are the products we
should refuse to purchase. C only produce raw material.

I94"Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because acquiring
knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."大学应该要求学生学习本专业以外的课程,
因为让学生们了解不同学科的知识才是教育的真谛所在
my position: agree
(Leonardo da Vinci)

I80"All students should be required to take courses in the sciences, even if they have no interest in science."
my view:
to learn or not to learn, and how much to learn, the rights should be reserved to the students themslves.
1 interest is the best teacher
2 It is a waste of time and vigor to force all people to learn science, especially those who have no interest in science at all, and
it may provoke resistance to learning of the students who are probably extremely telented in other field and cause a counterproductive consequence .
3 As many basic essence of science is pervasive in others fields and the method used in scientific research such as logical thinking
and analysis can be applied to other subjects, it is meaningful for schools to advocate the students to take courses in the science
and inspire their interest but not to play the role of a harsh oppressor.

I67"Colleges should require students to engage in public-service activities in order to assure that each student receives a balanced,
well-rounded education."大学应该要求学生们参加公益活动,这样就能保证学生们得到平衡全面的教育
my position: agree
1 students who will be a new generation of leaders and citizens to guide and construct the society into a better world should have
an responsibility to the community, which is the fundamental to the stability and development of the society.
2 cooperation is important in the journey to success.
3 through public-service we can instill in students a sense of such kind of responsibility and prepare them to collaborate with others.

I158The arts (music, dance, visual arts, etc.) are vitally important to students' education and should therefore receive as much
emphasis as mathematics, science, reading and other mainstream subjects."艺术(音乐、舞蹈、视觉艺术等)对学生的教育都是很重要的,因此它们应该得到和数学、科学、阅读还有其他主干课程一样的重视
my position: partly agree
1 Thanks to arts, we have the chance to live a chromatical life. (assuming a life without arts)
2 however, we should keep in mind that the function of arts and other mainstream subjects are different, so they cannot be treat
to the same degree.
3 Every period there will be someone who have a genius for arts and we should provided them with special training in order to
release their potencial, otherwise, we still have to supply an system of education that has much emphasis on those mainstream
subjects to the students.

I34"Instead of requiring students to take courses in a variety of disciplines—that is, courses ranging from the arts and the humanities
to the physical and biological sciences—colleges and universities should allow students to enroll only in those courses that will help
prepare them for jobs in their chosen fields. Such concentration is necessary in today's increasingly work-oriented society."与其要求学生们选修各种各样的学科----从艺术和人文科学到物理和生物科学----大学还不如允许学生们仅仅去选择那些有助于他们今后工作的学科。这种集中在当今这个工作至上的社会是必要的。
my view: disagree
1 On the one hand, it's obviously that we cannot deny the importance of job-related course. They gurantee our suvival.
2 On the other hand, the function of other subjects cannot not be ignored. (arts--relax us , humanities--a sense of sympathy,
science--logical thinking, analysis)
3 the job-oriented courses are not essentially incompatible with courses such as arts, humanities, and the like.
