TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
The intention of education, which is to help students develop mentally, morally, physically and aesthetically, is agreed by almost all educators and parents. Yet the effective way of education, whether to provide a rather indistinctive curriculum to all students or meet the individual needs and interests of each student, may be controversial. In my opinion, satisfying each student's needs and interests is the essential approach to provide effective education. But extending this assertion too far may consult in some troubles.
Provided with appealing curriculum, students will be more interested and active in learning and in the long-term be more likely to attain great achievements. Development psychology tells us that students, especially young children are more likely to focus their attention on things appealing to them. To attract students to study and make the learning process more effective, education should meet the individual interests of students and therefore arouse their attention and enthusiasm. To illuminate my point, I would like to propose Jamie Dimon, the present CEO of J.P Morgan, who has been very interested in mathematics and theories of economy ever since his early age. Without his interest and enthusiasm in relative courses, Dimon may not be so successful in his career now. 我觉得这个例子还可以更加具体些,否则我们不能从他的成功来推断出你的观点。因为他也许并未接受提供的课程,而是通过自己的自学来成功。
Focusing on the needs of individual students, education can best help原文差个空格students' growth and avoid wasting educational resources. As an individual, which means a different person,我觉得有点重复 every one of us face different problems and need various instructions and help in learning. To teach students effectively, education should satisfy each student's needs. An indistinctive curriculum can undermine students' interests and development of their talents. Imagine a talented boy of seven years old who can easily figure out questions of calculus are taught about simple addition and division in class. Although this example may border on hyperbole,那确实 it still suggests that meeting individual needs is of critical importance to education because no two pupils are the same用identical比较好哦. Besides hindering the development of students' unique talents, indistinctive education also waste a lot of resources on teaching contents which may be unnecessary or too easy to some of the students. Hence, education lacking the focus on individual need of each student cannot be effective.理由有点重复,而且你这两个分论点交织不清,可以尝试分开写(分论点)
However, meeting the individual needs and interests of each student does not necessarily mean give pupils the right to decide what courses they are going to take. On the contrary, absolute freedom of choosing courses denies the needs of each student. As indispensable skills, basic calculation, physics and other knowledge, which are foundations of the whole education, process and even the whole life of students should be taught to each student without choice.
Provided with the curriculum which meets the needs and interests of each one, students are more likely to study actively and effectively. Yet giving the absolute freedom in choosing courses should be cautioned. What educators are doing now, which is providing basic required course together with optional courses, is an effective way.
