Seldom could a field advance significantly without other subjects' influence and association, no matter it is science-like physics and biological, or humanities-like philosophy and anthropology, depends largely on outsiders' thoughts and achievements. With outsiders, a certain field would attain novel ideas to discover deep aspects and new methods of solving problems, while the level of the field, as how researchers devote to the subject, is the elementary aspect of the advancement.

A field, when using other subjects' perceptions and opinions for reference, may come up with a new thought, and thus establish a revolutionary theory. Each field is limited in a narrow vision and inevitably overlooks some significant sphere, yet referring to another field, it would recognize an aspect to be researched. Mathematics, maybe the most fundamental subject, is applied to almost each subject to develop their new theories. For instance, in the field of electronics engineering, when making full use of math, it can advance surprisingly. The information theory, which is brought forward by Shannon-an accomplished engineer of this field in America, is the fruit of applying math to engineering and thus propels this engineering subject to develop.  

Moreover, the achievement of one field can also help another to resolve some difficulties. The resolution of one problem may involve seemingly irrelevant subjects to the process of conquering troubles. Often people are puzzled by how archeologists define ancient articles their times, while chemistry, a science subject, contributes a lot. By means of detecting the content level of carbon, chemists have the capacity to estimate when this culture relic, either architecture or an ornament was made. In this case, just due to the high development of chemistry can archeology get improved.

It is true that outsiders of a subject make it advance, nonetheless, people working in the field should not account for others to bring new methods or new ideas rather than themselves. Albeit outsiders, to some extent, may propel this field, yet without internal achievements never would it accomplish anything. Any subject is based on at least tens or hundreds of years to form a knowledge system of it, with enormous researchers or scientific workers devoting their life to it. How would it utilize other subjects’ suggestions just at ease and build up a well-established system?

To sum up, subjects, whatever in science and humanities, are not separated and they develop significantly relying on others only when they have accomplished greatly. The cross fields may engender the world a more convenient one by enhancing the high advanced technology.
