I strongly agree with the author that government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their state on the basis of the importance of wild features, being extinct, to human beings. However, residents in the state and each people on the earth should help the government with the preservation of wilderness areas regardless of the location of them.

Undoubtedly, it is indispensable for humans to protect a variety of wild features which live their life on wildness areas. As we know, learnt from biology, each feature plays a distinct role in food chain which is indispensable for the circle of power. Take sheep, wolfs and grasses in a forest as an example. To protect the pity sheep hunters killed most of wolfs in the forest. But in the end the giant sheep flock has eaten off the grasses, which pales the forest. It is the balance that keeps the forest vivid which can not survive be deprived of any element. Similarly, without the balance in food chain, the power circle on the earth, unwillingly, will be disturbed. So protection on the wilderness areas is prerequisite for maintaining the power engine for the lives on the earth.

Moreover, the high speed decrease in the number of sorts of nature features has caught the whole world's attention which strongly opposes the neglect of wildness areas. Prevalently, more features on the earth are being extinct directly or indirectly caused by humans' behaviors. For example, Giant Panda in China, African Elephants in Africa, White Sharks in California and so on. Further, Chirus in China have been brutally slaughtered by the hunters allured by the high price of their fur. And animals can not survive on the earth because of the environment gradually destroyed by humans. Faced with an increased speed of descend in species, 1000 times more than the speed in original natural condition, humans begin to pay their attention to protect the environment and preserve the species on this planet such as the World Environmental Day. As a consequence, if the government ignores the protection of the wildness areas will be excluded from the whole family of the world.

However, there are also considerable factors that whether the economic in the state can support this preservation and whether the government of the state is the only agency responsible for the action. On the one hand, only with the support of the residents, surviving on this planet, governments can process their plans for preservation successfully.  On the other hand, taking Africa into consideration, it is unreasonable to request governments in Africa to protect wild features while they can not solve the problems as thirst, famine, AIDS and poverty which always puzzled locals on this land. In that preservation for wildness lands is such an essential matter for human beings, giving helpful hands to starveling areas to protect the species there should be advocated throughout the world.

To sum up, as one of the features living on the earth with the most powerful strength, humans should do their best to preserve the wilderness areas with the help of government and each resident on the earth.
