Issue11【flying小组】第三次作业
TOPIC: ISSUE11 - "All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems."

The author provides the idea that all nations should help to support holding a global university, which engages students solving the most persistent social problems in the world. I quite agree with the development of global university, while the purpose of it needs discussion. And the achievement of global university is promoting the relationship among nations and making the students get more knowledge instead of only solving complex social problems.
A global university benefits students much. It gives more opportunities which let them broadens[把le去掉,broden提前] their outlook to them[去掉to them], and provides more chances which let them get close to celebrities[去掉 to them]. I have many friends who has taken trip to other nations to get education in these kinds of global universities. One of them said it really changed her a lot during the study in International Universities. Different people from different countries got together there, they communicated with each other about all kinds of manners, travels, customs, and so on. In that case, these students absorbed different lines of thought, and get new knowledge in a vivid way. What is more, they struck up a lasting friendship without any discrimination.
In spite of that,用在这里不太合适吧 developing a global university is a symbol of nation's strength.A global university shows the status of the nation, for only if international students long for it means this nation is at the top of the education, academic and many other fields.[看不大懂] But just because of that, it is not all the nations have the possibility to build a global university which needs not only massive money[晕啊,可以这样用?] but also scholars of high quality. A research hold by a famous professor arrived at a conclusion that few nations have the capability of developing a global university. Although many countries want one, they should have admitted their lack of fundamental factors. I would like to use Murphy Law here, which could solve it as well. We can let the 20% of nations who have the ability hold this kind of university, and that could benefit 80% of global students.
However, the gain of university is not to solve problems, but to engage a better environment for students. [似乎有些跑题]On [the]one hand, solving social problems is the work of government, and the students who will choose that as a career in the future is not clear, and after all is the minority. And the function of university is not carrying on the education to part of students, but the entire of them. []On the other hand, it refers to[misuse of words] the achievement of college education. Actually, the goals of it are to train people to fit for the society and be a better person. Andrew Abbott from University of Chicago once said:“University education is not necessarily connected with future job consideration. University education does not have any pragmatic purpose - it functions on its own merit. It teaches how to run matters and maximize the value of one's experiences. It also brings about moral and emotional transformation.” I'm very much[去掉] in favor of his point of view.
To sum up, the advantage of holding a global university is without a doubt, but it is not a universally applicable truth. The final gain of university education is to make students better persons, not tell them how to solve social problems. In fact, to do what is the choice of students after the education and should be lead into a right and legal way by education, instead of be the only outcome even before they get into it.
首先,这篇文章并没有采取大家一般常用的思路,即按照建议类型的题目展开论述,而是提出了自己的新的观点,这种精神应该是ETS所希望看到的
思路还是比较清晰的
主要问题在于语言,要在语言上下功夫,一些句子和词组的用法不太考究,不太恰当,使得整篇文章的说服力削弱
