In our daily life, we must contact non-mainstream areas of inquiry more or less, such as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits. The statement claim that it plays a vital role in society by satisfying human needs that not addressed by mainstream science. I agree with this statement. Even if these non-mainstreams have some storage, the benefit is far outweighs their potential harm.

Admittedly, certain human needs will be addressed with these non-mainstream areas of inquiry. It can play a role of psychological solace. In the temporary time we have to live, competition is everywhere and you do your utmost to win. When you lose or you feel that you will be better if you do it again, the sense of depressed regret, guilty and disgrace. When all these harmful feelings surround you, you may do something to harm yourself or other people. An extreme example is Buobin Zheng, a famous actress of Korea, she ended her 27 years life in her bathroom just because she can not burden the strong pressure. The tragedy would not be act when this young actress found something consoling her break heart. Such as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal all can help her dodge this problem.

As I concerned, non-mainstream areas of inquiry can meet human strong curiosity. Such questions as where are we from, when we died where are we gong, are there some creature exist but we cannot see them, why ancient people have ability to build pyramid, the mystery of Maya culture. All these questions above are research for years, but there still have not some reasonable answers to make us unconfused. Non-mainstream can satisfy our fierce curiosity. No matter these answers are right or exactly wrong, even how ridiculous these answers are. These answers bring us another view. They can make common people stop seeking these answers which they may not get all their lives. People should take more vigor in their daily work.

Meanwhile, one compelling argument in favor of non-mainstream areas has to do with the fact that they can stabilize social security. Society consists of many of the citizen. I mentioned above that non-mainstream plays a vital role in console people. Similarly, it can play a important role in stabilize social security. In the past, government often used such non-mainstream area to dominate citizen, especially their minds. There are a lot of governors can be used as examples. Nowadays we can also use this to explain why Indians who have large difference in treasure product conflict few. Most Indians believes fate. In their opinion, they are poverty caused by their dad behaviors of “past life”.

Nonetheless, in some aspects, people overestimate non-mainstream might lead other consequence. Tricker use participant’s immature mind, swindle all the property of them ,even lead them crazy to do something harm for society. For instance, a boy believe fortune-teller that his neighbor and he have orgies of hatred, he did not say a word to his neighbor from that time. What is worse, when he saw his neighbor, he often stared angrily to him, thus corrupting their friendship. In a word, non-mainstream areas is helpful for us, but there is still has someone who has undesirable aim. So we should open our eye brightly.

In sum, I concede that non-mainstream pursuits would make participant calm, even-tempered and good-humored. It would satisfy participant strong curiosity. Moreover, these can make society more stability. Although there might be some disadvantages, I believe that there are far more advantages.
