提纲：1、开头：基本同意作者观点。做出贡献的是艺术家。
      2、评论家可以更好的挖掘作品的价值，帮助大众了解艺术。
      3、但是很多时候评论家会妨碍艺术的发展。
      4、真正的艺术价值是由艺术家创造的，需要经过时间的洗礼。
      5、总结：艺术家是真正创造价值的人。

Who, you may wonder, gives our society the lasting value; is it the artist but not the critic as the speaker claims? From my view of point, I generally agree with the speaker, though critic does something of lasting value, the real one who create the value, is the artist.

Admittedly, critic has some contributions in lasting value. Critic is always the people who find out the value of the work and the one who help people to understand the work. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, great works have value only when it has been appreciate by audience. For example, the great novel Don Quixote has been considered as a antic book when it has been published because of its prologue and the picture in it. But critic found the meaning in the book and recommendation it to the public made the book to be prevailing. Critic is especially important in nowadays for more and more works of art coming out. Just like movies, there are hundreds of films be produced everyday, we even not to know what should be seen without the recommendation of critics. So in some respects, critic is important for last value, because following the professional advices of them, we can not only understand the great work but also save much time in selecting and comprehending.

However, critic also may do something impede the development of art especially in the period of revolution. Critic may not always know what they are talking about, and the evaluation may be affected by their own benefits and the limiting of their realm. Take novel as an example, the critic who like old generation's novel will criticize the novel which written by new generation today as trash with bias because of lots of descriptions of violence and sex in the book which betrays the mode of their writing. And so did Voltaire who criticizes Shakespeare's works for not conforming to the neo-classical mode. So critic in different realm sometimes may not make the right evaluation for the last value of the works.

Moreover, critic may be used by government to protect themselves easily. When Mark Twain wrote books to attack the corruption of the government, the politicians has used the words of critic to counterattack. These examples indicate that critic will has a partial evaluates on the works that sometimes will affect the last value of the works. In a word, critics may impede the real value of the work to be revealed to the society.

But whether a work is valuable is evaluated by time but not critic. Great works will never be covered regardless of the words of the critic. The people who brings us the real value is artist but not critic. Extreme example involved the famous picture Mona Lisa painted by Da Vinci, the great opera Magic Flute composed by Mozart and the novel Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen. All these works' value are found after a few hundred years after the creators death, however, the value of these works are not be decreased and people we always remembered, is the creator of these works, or, the artists.

To sum up, although critic may help us to find our the last value of works sometimes, the real people who do great things to give our society the lasting value is the artist but not the critic.
