What do airport baggage screeners, students and basketball players have in common? They all need a goodnight’s sleep. A study presented this week at the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies suggest basketballers should get some extra ease, a more likely to score in a game. Stanford University’s researchers monitor members of the school’s man’s basketball team, during two weeks of regular sleep cycles, and then two weeks with extra sleep. With the extra sleep, the athlete reported increased energy, faster sprint time and better free-throw shooting. Another study from the college students who pull all-nighters to prepare for test turned have lower grade point averages than those who get regular sleep. And second and third graders whose sleep disorders are more likely to receive bad grades in math, reading and writing, according to a study from Chappaqua public schools in New York. But it gets even worse. A research from Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston found airport baggage screeners who didn’t get enough sleep made more errors in searching for unusual items that might be a threat. So you see you need to catch ease to catch bad guys.

get zzzs

or catch zzzs
means fall into deep sleep.
I just get it from other source.
People associate z with the sound of snoring.
samples:
I've got to get back to work, and then go home and catch some zzzzs.
My desk isn't very comfortable, and the office is pretty loud. I don't think I could catch some zzzs at work, even if I wanted to.

A study presented(我不觉的是这个词,听起来像could signed,但不知道到底是什么) this week at the annual meeting of the associated professional sleep societies, suggests basketballers who get some extra zzzs are more likely to score in game. Stanford university researches monitored numbers of school’s man’s basketball team, during 2 weeks in regular sleep cycles and then 2 weeks with the extra sleep. With the extra sleep, the athletes reported increased energy, faster sprint times and better free-throw shooting. Another study found that collage students who pour all night to prepare for test, tent to have lower grade pointaverages(我觉得可能是这个词组) than those who get regular sleep. And second and third grades(怀疑,听起来像gridders,如果是graders又有点奇怪) who’re sleep disorders are more likely to receive bad grades in math, reading and writing. According to a study from chaplapod(听起来是这个样的,不知道是什么词,但我觉得不是chapter public schools in New York, but it gets even worse. A research from bigsment(听起来这样,难道是biggest,或者是某地名?) Woman’s Hospital in Boston found that the airport baggage screeners who didn’t get enough sleep made more errors in searching for unusual items might be a threat. So you see, you need to catch zzzs to catch bad guys(不是太能理解这个,会不会是某两近音词,比如bed~~,这样好像和睡觉比较扯的上关系).

(S) Yeah, You know why? What has it?
(H) What’s it?
(S) Metal object. That’s a good conductor that take heat from paper before the phony money has transfer to burn
(H) What kind of heat conduct, or radiation is it?
(S) It is conduction.
(H) In other word, heat goes from candle to paper. It is pulled so fast by the metal bar, that keep the paper from burning, because it can not get high temperature.
(S) Yeah, I think it is true.
(H) Then what would happen if you slowly pull of that metal bar off there?
(S) Well, there would be no conduct behind so it would burn up.
(H) Try it.
(S) There it goes. Pretty off.
A National Science foundation official show off that over years Don has been personal responsible for more people going to sciences than any single person in this country.

Cancer Claims Don Herbert, TV's 'Mr. Wizard'

Television's "Mr. Wizard," Don Herbert, who taught generations of children about science, died at his Southern California home Tuesday. He was 89.

From 1951 through 1964, Watch Mr. Wizard delighted young viewers with the joys of science on a set built like a simple workshop. Herbert would demonstrate experiments using household items and encourage kids to "try this at home."

Herbert received a Peabody Award for the science show in 1954.

Watch Mr. Wizard was briefly revived in the 1970s and then again in the 1980s, after Herbert retooled the show with a faster pace for the Nickelodeon channel.

Herbert was a drama major in college, but his plans changed during World War II when he enlisted in the Army. As an Army Air Corps officer, Herbert flew 56 bomber missions and participated in the invasion of Italy.

On the official Mr. Wizard Web site, a posting from his family reads that Herbert had lost his battle with cancer and died surrounded by his family — just one month shy of his 90th birthday.

"He really taught kids how to use the thinking skills of a scientist," former colleague Steve Jacobs told the Associated Press.

Born in Waconia, Minn., Herbert was a 1940 graduate of LaCrosse State Teachers. After the war, he worked as an actor, model and radio writer before starting Watch Mr. Wizard in Chicago on NBC.

The show moved to New York after several years.
